Is the Piranacon BBTS exclusive worth it?

Well... I, being born on 1993, Brazil, never got hold of a G1 figure (except KO's) ever... And as it's very improbable that the Seacons will get the treatment that the Terrocons got in Prime, even though it would be awesome, is the Piranacon set on BBTS worth it at 45 dollar?

It is if you want it.

personally I didn't like Snaptraps head being green instead of black but apart from that its a good re-issue.

Yeah I think he's worth it. I never had the original 80's set so I jumped at the chance to pick it up.

I love it. I don't care if the colors aren't exactly the same as the G1 version or whatever. It's still an awesome toy/set of toys, and a great display piece.

There's a little bit of mold degradation, but nothing really that hurts the figures, at least on the one I have. It's a very nice set. I wasn't really in the Seacons back in the day, but found the whole thing pretty cool when I picked up the reissue.

The mold degradation is most apparent on Overbite, on him the gun doesn't want to peg in securely in weapon and beast modes. He's fairly cheap to replace though.

For the price, its an excellent score.
A little bit of mold degradation doesn't outweigh the fact that you are getting a G1 reissue of a combiner still in package.
Only downside of him is for those of us who bought him right away and didn't get as good a deal as you can now.
Regardless, still worth the money.

I love that it comes with separate display stands for all the figures, so you can display them nicely in alt or weapon mode. Did the original G1 version include stands, or were those added for this reissue?

The 5 smaller ones did include their 3-piece stands when first released, but the God Neptune repaint omitted them. The middle part could double as an extra gun btw.

I've got this set and I can recommend it. As said above, there are issues with mold degradation and the lack of paint apps (thanks again, Hasbro) on Snap Trap's face. But, if you want an instant Piranacon, without the hassle of tracking down every single little part of the original, get it!

I almost sold mine the other day, but decided against it. I would miss it.

For 45 its great. Its not the best g1 combiner, but still a pretty decent figure all together.

You get all the accessories, and there's quite a few, chrome sword and turtle shell/ shield, and for me the cherry on top, was getting a set to combine with my old Nautilator. Only Seacon I ever had until this set.

If you really want it get it. But remember he's G1.

Mine was full of QC issues. The colours are way off from G1 and the plastic is waxy lookin and the tolerances are shite. Like it suffers from heavy mold degradation or something but those molds have never been in heavy use so i don't understand the poor quality. I was pissed about it but i had all the G1's so I used the parts from the reissue for display purposes. For example all the stands and guns and whatnot that are really pricey on thee secondary market for the originals.

I bought it at full price back in the day so i was bummed but at the price it's goin for nowadays it's worth picking up just for all the bits and bobs if anything.

I believe the moulds were used not only for the original G1 rendering, but also God Neptune and TFCC's Piranacon, before this BBTS version was made. That could explain the degradation. I may be wrong though.

It's not just number of uses; improper storage, materials used or simply age can also make molds degrade. How do you think we lost a number of G1 molds despite the low number of uses?
