Why is thunderblast so expensive

Hi transfans!

I aquired Cybertron Thunderblast through a collection I bought and I really disliked the figure. It is the pure definition of a shellformer to the point that I don't even see it as a transformer but rather a surprise figure inside a boat. It is easily one of the toy designs I like least along with Backstop.

So, I wonder, why are his prices so inflated online? I can't find a loose one under 50$. Was he rarer than the other cybertron releases?

She, Thunderblast's one of the few female toys in existence. And the price does seem a bit odd. Then again, EBay is full of people who think anything old is worth a lot. :)

Oh right, yeah she is female. And that's what I thought. I wasn't too swift and should have looked at the completed listings instead, they make much more sense.

By the way I see your number 1 priority is Elephaorpha and I have a crazy story. I was in Toys R Us and saw what I thought was Elephaorpha in a Skystalker box.

I was new to this so I thought it was a lucky mistake (it was obviously a toy swap though) and bought it for 5$. BUT it turns out it was just a Torca with the bottom half spray painted blue. I will be returning it to Hasbro

Don't, Hasbro is notorious for their customer service, plus they wouldn't as stupid when it comes to returns. Care to share some pics of it? I think it would be a nice addition to TFWiki's Toy Swapping article.

Keep it inside its packaging, Torca is very fragile thanks to Gold Plastic Syndrome.

Which is more expensive? The small eye version or the corrected one? Too bad Chromia didn't look like her CGI pics.

They seem about the same. The small eyed version is actually just the standard Takara version and thus the Hasbro is corrected. I didnt see any under 50$. But in any case, the sold listings indicate that its usually sold at around 30$ (the corrected version) so that answers my question
