He is so tiny and has the same asking price as sideswipe , prowl , and wheel jack
I'm genuinely curious as to why people would pay so much for him including shipping when deluxe bumblebee does the job.in fact knowing Hasbro this is the one masterpiece transformer that has the best chance if coming to toys r us
I get that he's coming with the figure but they should have removed the figure and made the figure cheaper since ultra Magnus is getting a similar figure.
Not to mention the mold isn't as good as classics due to the huge feet and ugly head.
This is just my opinion and feel free to disagree but I just don't think he's worth it in my eyes.

I do agree to a point the exo suit figure seems to just be there to justify the asking price, which does kinda put me off, and I agree that Classics Bee is a great figure, however Classics Bee doent fit the asthetic of Masterpiece so its either buy this or ToyWorld Bii, which is also about the same price, I think it depends on personal preference. Personally I want a deluxe scale Bee that has a VW alt mode that fits the Classics line, therfore I will be going for the ToyWorld option, I would imagine that Masterpiece collectors would go for Masterpiece Bee as it simply fits better than Classics or the ToyWorld option.

Because it's Masterpiece Bumblebee, its legs are more complex than Classics Bumblebee's entire body, is show accurate, and comes with an exosuit. And on top of that where I live mass produced retail Voyagers cost the same as him.
And as said before, Classics BB does not fit with MPs.

Additional exo-suit Spike (it's basically a two-pack), slavish show accuracy, almost assuredly high quality engineering, deluxe bumblebees of any kind don't come close, and I don't feel like the asking price is out of control. It's a $50 toy on HLJ, which is very fair.
$50 toy. The way I approach this hobby, that's nothing.
But hey, different strokes, right? If you don't think it's worth it, there's a very easy solution - don't buy it.

I understand what people are saying if they paid the same price as one of the Datsun cars or the like.
However, my preorder before shipping was in the mid $40 range; I felt that was a great deal for the size.

Because it's G1 VolksWagen Bumblebee! I never liked either version of the character, but I'll probably pick up this MP.

The answer is simple: I want it. I can afford it. I have Classics Bumblebee (actually, United Bumblebee) and while it is a great figure, it is NOT G1 Bumblebee. At least not to me. It's just yet another Bumblebee toy/figure. This MP Bumblebee looks like it's going to be exactly what every other MP since MP-10 has been: a perfect representation of the character from the G1 cartoon with a spot on accurate G1 alt mode. They could be charging $200 for it and I'd gladly pay it and not feel ripped off. Every time I look over at my current MP shelf I get a great sense of satisfaction and not one of them gives me even the slightest hint of buyer's remorse. I'm glad to own them all and as long as Takara keeps doing what they've been doing with the MP line since MP-10, I'll buy each and every single one of them no matter how much they cost.

I want to buy it, so I am buying it. All the justification a growing lad needs.
But...if it didn't have the Exo-Suit Spike I'd a)be a little bit deader inside than I was yesterday, and b) probably think twice about paying similar prices to MP Prowl. He does have the Exo-suited Spike though, so Heeeeellllloooo, Happy Days Are Here Again.

2 words......Masterpiece Bumblebee (or is that 4 words?)
As for the Exo-suit? Icing on the cake. To OP, just bite the bullet.........you know you'll be buying it. On my end, I already envision months of eating Scooby Snacks. And don't get me talking about Star Saber.

Just because Hasbro is usually Bumblebee hungry, doesn't mean it's an automatic lock for domestic release. That all comes down to whether Hasbro can get the VW license to release him.

We don't know what the deal was with VW for the license. Many did not think he would be made, maybe VW made Takara pay more than the license for Nissan or Lamborghini, which would drive up the price.
Secondly he is probably the autobot with the 2nd most airtime than Optimus... he is probably the 2nd most "must have" Autobot. I know that is debatable, but a good case can be made for it.
Honestly I agree, I don't like the extras though.... I was imagining we would have gotten more extras than he got. For example:
-- 3-4 face options that would have come standard.
-- Maybe some Mount St. Hilary backdrop to display behind him.
-- Multiple weapons or tools.
-- Chip Chase and Spike figures.
-- I also miss the g1 stuff like giant war illustrations, posters, and that translucent thing you put over techspecs.

I'm just putting it out there... I'd be happy to take exo-suit Spike off someone's hands if they really don't want him.

I'm thinking a lot of the price would be the royalties they need to pay VW for the license to use a likeness of their IP...

What Dead Metal said, minus the bit about the price of voyagers. Also, the Classics mold has crappy leg articulation. Limited hips, no thigh swivel.

Quite easily, actually
And i suspect that the figures listed with Magnus will be in their regular attire ¬ the Exosuits; Smaller, cheaper & non-transforming
