MP08 Grimlock: Need Variants!

i made a similar thread about MP10 and 22 variants, and its got me thinking about grimlocks. has everyone gotten their fill of the normal MP08 yet? it seems he's been reissued enough times that its time to move on. so what else can we get out of the mold?

Comic Grimlock
with all the reissues i would KILL for a second chance at MP08X (comic king grimlock). with the horrendous prices on ebay, i cant believe no ones taken advantage of it. id take a reissue or even a KO when the asking price is 700-1000 bucks for the original.

Cartoon Grimlock
Flat, but bright colors is all it takes.

G2 Grimlock
Blue! simple.

AOE Grimlock
dare i say? we see movie toys with G1 decos, why not the other way around? i think he'd look neat in that bronze getup.

*cartoon and G2 versions are customs from ebay seller wilestbilame*

We actually have 2 variants of G2 Grimlock: the blue and the less common Turquoise variant. Plus, there's an unreleased 3rd variant with Tiger Stripes:

Possibly intended for release with a G2 Swoop and G2 Sludge.

they could also do the fire-butts version (like Animated and now FOC got) cause that's pretty cool. I'd say do a G2 version next, but I like all the variants. Not sure I'd go for any of them at import prices though.

ahhh.. forgot about magma type somethingsomething... thatd be cool too. unfortunately, if you dont like import prices it seems thats the only way youll get these variants. overseas we're lucky enough to get the regular versions (scarcely) in our stores. other than acid storm and YOTH theres no overseas variants i can think of.

strange though isnt it? if something as unpopular as acid storm can sell out, why not push for more variants?

I wonder if the lack of MP Swipe at retail might suggest something the guys on the Twincast postulated...what about a proper MP line in the US (and then, theoretically, elsewhere) with cases of multiple different molds at once? They could at least do Sideswipe and a couple of Datsuns. If they wait long enough maybe Bee, or even a set of repainted Cassettes (with the new Ratbat as well!)? That'd fit with Hasbro's claim that they're aware of the adult collector market and are targeting products towards them/us.

edit: and of course, such a line might get filled out with various repaints.

just cause of how the line traditionally operates, i never thought of that. if we're just talking about existing molds, sure they could do multiple figures per case. but the amount of time and engineering that goes in to one of those figures, thats probably why we only see 2 or 3 a year. and they probably want to limit the amount of time and effort because its primarily an adult collectible. they wont sell 10 million MP prowls like they will AOE primes.

i wonder how sales would differ with figures (of the same mold) being released in mass. say sideswipe, G2, red alert, and tigertrack released at once? that might be hard for the wallet.
