The IDW comics used the FOC figures to represent the G1 guys so I do count them.

I thought it was only a few of WFC/FOC figures that were made G1.?
There is some clarity in the wiki on their individual pages but I would be interested to hear any further info.

Soundwave and Shockwave's FOC figures were repurposed as G1 versions were which were the only ones that didn't have some kind of Classics update.

Though now that I'm thinking about it, Buzzsaw is still missing one. IDW used the data disk version for Laserbeak but not Buzzsaw. I guess it's up for debate if Frenzy and Rumble count too since their toys were only available from Takara.

Back to the drawing board.

Hey guys (and girls),

I got a question regarding the next wave of the generations deluxe figures, the one that has Armada Starscream and Skywarp

http://www.bigbadtoystore.com/bbts/product.aspx?product=HAS23393&mode=retail

It is still a preorder on BBTS BUT Amazon has them in stock and shipping out

http://www.amazon.com/Transformers-Generations-Deluxe-Starscream-Action/dp/B00E4FNVPI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1400353076&sr=8-1&keywords=armada+starscream

My question is why does one american online company can sell them when the other one cannot. Also, does this mean we can see this set in stores? Because the most recent generations wave at my local stores is the one with Dreadwing, Skids and Waspinator.

That wave is already out at most retailers. It's simply a case of your particular area running a bit behind. BBTS has a (rather bad) habit of putting up new listings whenever an older listing for the same product is sold out. Also, keep in mind Amazon is like a store with a continuous supply, but also allows 2nd hand products.

So you are saying the wave came and went rather quickly then, right? I am only inferring this because I gather that from what you said, it is sold out at BBTS.

I'd say it is sold out, but don't count on BBTS getting new stock from Hasbro any time soon. They did say that wave will get a second run later this year.

That's not a new wave. I bought all four of those figures from my local Toys "R" Us and Walmart stores way back in March.

BBTS is just preordering another bunch.

If there are people who know more about Hasbro's distribution and could give me some insight on Diamond's involvement, it would be a great help.

I ask because I saw something interesting in Diamon Distribution's Preview guide the other day. For the month of April (which shows what is to come out in the next 3 months) you were able to order a case of 5 voyager class Thrilling 30 transfromers which would include just BlitzWing and Doubledealer.

This surprises me since I have not seen either on the shelves in a loooooooooooong time. All we have left here in Quebec is lots of Rhinox and some Sunstorm. Could it be that Hasbro has some more Doubledealers and Blitzwings that could be coming our way?

Also, in the May catalogue that was released a few weeks ago, a case of deluxe Thrilling 30 transformers can now be ordered. This case consists of:

Armada Starscream
Skywarp
Minicon Assault team
Autobot Scoop
Rattrap
Tankor

Could this also be the same case that will be shipped to big box stores like TRU, Target and Walmart?

Potential Transformers Protectobots Team Repaints Multi-Pack

Fellow Seibertron.com user Autobot Genocide has spotted an image on the Planet Iacon Facebook page that seems to suggest some Transformers: Prime mold (and not only) might be repainted into none other than the Autobot Protectobots team! The image, mirrored below, includes Deluxe Ratchet as First Aid, Beast Hunters Prowl as Streetwisesmart and Cyberverse Legion Arcee as Groove, all in the same pack! There is also a smaller image for a Protectobots Evac Squad featuring a redeco of RotF Evac and Generations Grappel as Hot Spot - check it out.

Of course they had to be Protectobots, my very first combiner group...

And this is where new design team really shows the differences with the old it seems, not just with deco with mold choice as well. Groove can't seem to catch a break lately, with being a tank in Bot Shots, and now a Legion fembot in this pack. And Hot Spot is now completely red, not unlike Guard City's Fire Chief. >:oP

Here's a different question: what line would they fall under? It's pretty much a safe assumption that the current line is just "Transformers (2014)" now, with "Age of Extinction" as one sub-header, with the Legion repaints falling under an unspecified one.

Not to mention Groove's deco seemingly taking influence from a different Groove than the one everyone would expect - Image

Likely another "archive oops" like Generations Jhiaxus, Hero Mashers Heatwave, and more.

That is the million dollar question.

Though, that giant list from Hasbro customer service system did contain the following mentions:

TRA ASIA KIDS DAY PROTECTOBOT 2 PACK A7779
TRA ASIA KIDS DAY PROTECTOBOT 3 PACK A7780

Looks like these could be them.

Asian Children's Day, huh? *looks it up* In Japan that was May 5th, China is June 1st, and Singapore is October 1st. Sheesh, stick to one day you guys!

That Blazemaster mold is a crappy mold. Too bad they didn't choose a better heli mold.

And of course Hot Spot appears to be the wrong color - maybe that's just a misprint (wrong picture printed by mistake?)

On the plus side, Streetsmart looks pretty cool! I'd buy it as a standalone figure if that were an option.

Is it just me or is anyone else upset that these will pretty obviously not actually be a combiner?

The Protectobots are back again. GREAT! Now if they were just combiners, I'll spend money on them. Also I think that Groove is female, due to the fact that it's made from the Prime Arcee mold, and it has feminine features.

Groove looks exactly Arcee with some extra silver bits, First Aid is just Ratchet with more blue, and Streetsmart appears to be Prowl, but with Smokescreen's deco.

The sad part is that this is likely the closest we'll get to having Classics Protectobots.

Loving the look of these guys! I don't own any of these molds (except for ratchet, but I love it so I cant be too disappointed)and having all these guys together as a Protectobot team (the team nobody really likes) will look great. Also points to Hasbro for a realistic sized motorbike,at last!No idea what these guys will come under, knowing Hasbro recently it'll end up being Age of Extinction!

Actually, we already have two of the five in Classics form:

GDO Series Hot Spot and Universe 2008 Blades. So the second set would be obsolete.

Wow, an entire set of barely-different-from-the-original repaints...
I mean, it's cool that the whole team got released, but apart from the Protectobot label there really just isn't any appeal to these.

*is surprised they've never done this sort of thing for Stunticons or Combaticons; non-combining, non-BotCon sets I mean*
