Short upper legs is a running theme on most transformers, just had a look at those near me and none have properly proportioned legs.

I find no problems with the head or arms, but I concede the canon and the legs. The canon is a perfect tank canon, but the bot mode need a 3rd party upgrade kit. I'm pretty sure some are already devloping a new canon for Megs. As for the legs, yeah, tiny tighs syndrome. Still, it's a classic TF trope so what can we do?

I wonder if there's any relation between the design of Leader Megatron and this Legends game design:

I think his feet are a little too small, honestly.

That said, Hasbro's stock photos are notoriously bad (usually mistransformed or badly posed), so I'll keep an open mind until in-hand pics start surfacing.

That tank Megatron is supposed to be Leader scale? If so that just makes matters worse! Perhaps some new designers have done this Megs but if we where to compare designs with Leader Jetfire, that Megs just seems a little lame to me.
As far as sales go, Im sure these two will sell ok because they are two of the biggest characters/money spinners in the Transformers universe.

It that an Elite Guard logo I see on Blades?
Edit: Huh. Just Googled the Elite Guard badge. It's very similar, but not quite the same. The Elite Guard logo has three chevron-thingies that sit at an upwards angle, but the insignia on Blades only has two, and they're straight.

Police tape!
And  the box art is lying about Blades' "hands."

They really should've done more to distinguish these from earlier uses of these molds. The 3-pack in particular still looks just like Ratchet, Prowl, and Arcee. Simply using the alternate heads for First Aid and Hot Spot would've worked wonders.

I approve of the yellow tape on the packaging, especially the "Protectobots on the scene" ;)^ I still think using Arcee, let alone the Legion, as Groove is a bit weird, a crane as a fire vehicle not so much, look at United Artfire. Streetsmart looks too bland in robot mode, that's the only really bad thing in the set. We are dealing with a new design team, mind you, but so far I'm not displeased overall.

Since I don't see TF4 or Age of Extinction anywhere, it's safe to assume they're like the blank 2010 line toys: they can fit in anywhere. ;)

I'm thinking these mutli-packs might be the catalyst that forces TFWiki to change its "Transformers: Age of Extinction (toyline)" page to a "Transformers (2014 toyline) page. :P

And the Legends Optimus Prime, Starscream and Bumblebee re-re-releases haven't done so already? If I were you I'd wait a little while longer until we get package shots of the Generations 2015 toys. If they match in style we get 2010 all over again.

Might bite on the Groove/Streetwise/First Aid set, but knowing that next year's Generations theme is combiners, I think I'll be the patient little boy I am and pray to the HasTak gods.

That Hot Spot/Blades set though... Had they used Hot Spot's GDO head and the Inferno version of the mold, it'd be a little better. But as it stands, no thanks.

But then it would just be GDO Hot Spot in red. It'd look more like Fire Chief instead. At least with the crane arm we get something evocative of a ladder.

Wait a sec!

Oh my goodness, you guys! Blades has the color scheme of Fly-Up!

And Hot Spot being red makes him look a bit like Fire Chief!

Sadly, though, the other three don't look that much like Safety, Sparkride, or Streetstar. We could have had updated versions of all of the Guard City dudes.

The colors are all wrong. Not accurate to the show at all.

Who said they were trying to be show-accurate? In fact, none of these bodies are show-accurate anyway, so how could they ever be show-accurate?

They weren't really supposed to. We already have a color accurate Hot Spot:

RotF Evac comes close enough to Blades, just switch out the orange for red:

Plus, using the original G1 colors would have resulted in near carbon copies of Prime Ratchet and Prowl.

Yes. Yes it does. And Universe Bonecrusher, with a little black paint, and some yellow stripes, is a hop, skip, and jump from being Boulder. Need a good Chase though. Using RID Prowl right now, and I glued a lego stud to DOTM Spec. Ratchet so I could mount a Ladder to him for Heatwave, although this might get subbed in.

I want to get GDO Hit Spot even more now, and use the Guard City names for the fire truck and helicopter, and one day Heatwave is going to get a long-lost distress call from Rescue Team Alpha-1. ;)

Also, I love that Groove comes with two guns. (on package) And that I used the same guns for the same setup on Arcee.

I think these sets were a good idea in concept, but it seems like they gave them a half-assed effort when it came to the paint jobs. They should have committed to making the set accurate or an homage to something, instead of just a hodge-podge. If they had all been show-accurate, or if they'd all been G1-toy-accurate, or if they'd all been comic-accurate, any of those would have been better than this mixture.

So...., what toyline is this? Generations, Age of Extinction, or a nameless line called Transformers?

If they made Hot Spot white and blue to match the rest, I'd have been content with it being "show accurate" enough. At least they'd all look like a team. Hot Spot is NOT red, end of story. It just looks ignorant to make him red and the others in white and blue.
