New Exclusive Deleted Scene from Transformers Bumblebee Movie Released with Gobots Joke

PostPosted: Tue Mar 19, 2019 6:33 pm
by D-Maximal_Primal
Thanks to a heads up from Seibertronian ig89ninja, we have word that the SyFy Wire Youtube Channel has published a brand new exclusive deleted scene from the Bumblebee movie.

The new scene, which is approximately 1 minute long, takes play when Charlie and Memo are discussing Bumblebee's origins and where he came from. Charlie mentions a "deep voice" coming from Bumblebee's chest in a hologram, talking about war and such, and it sets up a hilarious moment where Memo decides that Bumblebee is, in fact, a Gobot! Charlie thinks that's about as much rubbish as we all do.

This isn't even the first Gobots mention in the movie! Memo is known to have and read the Gobots comics in the movie, so a joke like this showing up comes as almost no surprise.

You can check out the clip below, and let us know what you think of this first Deleted Scene reveal below!

Without a doubt that intro was one of the highlights of this last movie..... I Loved it, and so much inspiration from the War for Cybertron games in those opening seconds! :D

If GoBots exist as a work of fiction within the Bumblebee movie universe then does it mean Transformers doesn't and if so: did something else (which is similar) replace it or did GoBots go unchallenge? Does that mean in their universe that Michaeal Bay made GoBots movies? :-?

AGH META FICTION HURTS MY HEAD! :HEADHURTS:

Okay, I've got it:

Animax got its full first wave of toys produced in 1987, then wave 2 introduced a vehicle to animal transformation gimmick, making it dead last to jump on the transforming robot bandwagon, but it became regarded as the only true competition to GoBots, with a lasting cult following.

Years later, Animax becomes the basis for Beast Wars, the big difference being that once they realized they'd traveled back to prehistoric Earth, the AniMaximals realized they had to change history to prevent the disaster that created Animax's post-apocalyptic setting, even if it meant neither they nor the AniMotor-Mutants ever existed!

But the new timeline leads to the present day being Lionel's Power Masters cartoon, which went on for 10 seasons because the lack of any TF Powermasters meant is didn't seem like a lame rip-off, and the hellscape brought about by the evil aliens' use of Death Gold leads to the cataclysm that produced Animax in the first place! See, Bob Forward would be working on the still-running New Adventures of He-Man in 1996, so the late Larry DiTillio's partner on Beast Wars would be Karl Macek, who'd taken to editing western cartoons together after Robotech: Odyssey left him burnt out on doing it to anime, and...

...and even if no one would have gotten it, I'd have laughed harder if Memo was a fan of Convertors.

Which could have served as yet another continuation of Robotech if Macek had added in stuff from Orguss, and then --

I think he was referring to figures of the g1 style characters in Bumblebee we got full images of.

Though, I agree the Machine Robo stuff is nice.

In-hand images and full list of special features and bonus material on Bumblebee 4K Ultra HD Blu-Ray

PostPosted: Wed Mar 20, 2019 11:14 am
by Seibertron
Thank you to Paramount Home Media, Seibertron.com received a copy yesterday of the Bumblebee movie. Here's a full rundown plus descriptions from yours truly of all of the special features and bonus material included on the Bumblebee 4K Ultra HD Blu-Ray set.

BONUS FEATURES ON 4K ULTRA HD COMBO, BLU-RAY COMBO & DIGITAL

  • Sector 7 Archive
    • Agent Burns: Welcome to Sector 7 - brief "recruit deployment" scene with Agent Burns (John Cena) who introduces us to Sector 7 at the Hoover Dam and teases introducing us to NBE-01.
    • Sector 7 Adventures: The Battle at Half Dome - motion comic of the comic book included with this set. Also has a couple extra scenes at the end where we are introduced to NBE-01 Megatron. I'm not a big fan of motion comics so take this for what you will. The level of acting seems similiar to video storybooks intended for young children. My copy included the actual comic as well, which was printed on nice glossy paper, with the cover feeling like it was printed on a nicer card stock (similar to postcards or business cards). Surprisingly, the comic was made by Avalanche Comics Entertainment instead of IDW.
  • Deleted and Extended Scenes
    • Original Opening - a different opening scene shown from Bumblebee's perspective, narrated by Bumblebee, as he's hunted by Agent Burns and friends in the forest. I'm really glad they did not use this as the opening scene. Bumblebee has a bit of a negative attitude in this scene, which does not seem like his normal personality. Kudos for someone catching this and removing this opening scene.
    • Drive to karate class - scene between Charlie and her brother Otis, who was holding onto Charlie's moped while riding on his skateboard. She arrives to her job at the Hot Dog on a Stick at the boardwalk carnival. Charlie's friends talk to her about her being different since her dad died.
    • Birthday present - Charlie's Mom (Sally) and her mom's boyfriend (Ron) present her with two gifts, of which she's not a fan.
    • Car wash and Beetle breakdown - Charlie and her brother Otis give Bumblebee a bath. Later in this scene, Bumblebee breaks down in the middle of an intersection as cars drive by with horns honking.
    • Charlie drops off Mom and Conan - After dropping them off, head to beach scene with Bumblebee practicing his disguise. In this version, he grabs her by the legs to shake off the sand from when he transformed.
    • Decepticons inspect the armory - near finished animated scene featuring Shatter and Dropkick. Dropkick adapts some new weapons from the military vehicles.
    • Drive to Cliff - Scene between Charlie and Memo where he discusses Bumblebee being a Go-Bot. Apparently Go-Bots are actual toys in this universe. Glad they cut out this scene. Much better ways to reference Go-Bots or the rivalry between the two brands back in the 1980s.
    • Sector 7 - couple of Sector 7 agents discussing who made the first machine and the Transformers god. Shatter and Dropkick discuss closing in on their target with Agent Burns.
    • Appliance War - Energon power surge that happened when Bumblebee connected with electrical socket. Dishwasher monster attacks Charlie and Memo, as well as the Fridge, TV and Alarm Clock monsters which were created by the Energon power surge.
  • Outtakes
    • Burn meets Bee - John Cena has a bit of fun when he first sees Bumblebee in forest.
    • War room - John Cena has some fun with the other actors after he answers the red phone and "pretends" to talk to the President.
    • There's a door in my way - Agent Burns talks about the Facts of Life to Simmons and that it's OK if he opens up to him. Has secret crush on Natalie. Guy that is supposed to blow up the door has wires tangled. Kind of wish they had left this in, sort of funny watching how long it takes the guy to untangle the wires. LOL.
    • Charlie in trash - scene at the tower toward end of movie. Bumblebee versus Dropkick. Dropkick's missile hits the dumpster Charlie is hiding in and it doesn't go off. She states "well, that didn't work" and then it goes off.
    • Saved the world - Memo and Agent Burns different takes with their conversation at the end after Memo arrives after battle.
  • Bee Vision: The Transformers robots of Cybertron - I liked most of the bonus features on this set, but found this one to be disappointing. I get what they were trying to do here by having a profile screen show up as new Transformers characters are shown during the Cybertron battle scenes, but there are some inconsistencies. Not all of the characters get their bio screen, or they get it later instead of when they first show up (such as Soundwave and Shockwave). While I like that the bio screens list the character's alt mode, I don't like that it looks like someone just went to a Wikipedia page and happened to see that Arcee also turned into a spider at one point (courtesy of BotCon) or that Wheeljack turned into a Ford Mustang (courtesy of the Alternators line). Those transformations are small fictional offshots from the main storyline and shouldn't have been listed. It struck me as ill-informed. Some fans might like the inclusion of these one-off alt-modes as a nods to where these characters have been, but it seems really out of place in the movie universe. It's also inconsistent that it doesn't mention other alt forms that Starscream has taken if they are going to go that route. Wish they had just kept it to their current alt forms (and/or their movie universe alt forms).
  • Bringing Bumblebee to the Big Screen (featurettes)
    • The Story of Bumblebee - featurette about the story direction of Bumblebee, his character, etc, told through various Producers and people who worked on the movie
    • The Stars Align - featurette about casting Hailee Steinfeld and John Cena for lead roles of Charlie Watson and Agent Burns respectively.
    • Bumblebee Goes Back to G1 - artists discussing using G1 as source material or launching point for recreating these characters in the "real" world. Also discuss animating Bumblebee, complexity, expressions, the Decepticons Blitzwing, Shatter, and Dropkick, and so on. There is NO discussion about Blitzwing's similarties to Starscream.
    • Back to the Beetle - behind the scenes look at Bumblebee as a Beetle, total of 8 Volkswagen Beetles available for use in movie including 1 electric Beetle that they custom built. Interesting look at the magic of Hollywood doing its thing with Bumblebee.
    • California Cruisin' Down Memory Lane - featurette with primary focus about recreating that 1980s look with the house, town, sets, cars, making Charlie's look stand out from other characters, location scouting, Santa Cruz boardwalk set, San Francisco bridge, redwood forest, showing off California, etc.

Megatron looks like his movie 1 design in the stop motion comic.
