Yeah, Hasbro probably has him in an extremely binding contract or something. Whether he likes it or not, hes riding this exploding plot-hole filled woman objectifying train to the very end. Hopefully he'll improve though.

You know what's funny? The only way a director can upstage Bay IMHO is if the director makes the movie 80-90% Transformer focused! A movie where the voice actors have a whole lot more to say because they are the stars. But if a director sticks to the formula of it being a bit human biased then I can't see how that will be better than Bay's movies. At best it might be slightly better and one can argue that a writer might make the difference instead of a new director.

What Hollywood needs to figure out is that we want to see a Transformers movie with TRANSFORMERS as the main focus. I'm not sure why they can't figure that out. It's an easy concept.

Given the billions of dollars the movies have made, I think Hollywood have worked out a formula that works just fine.

The budget doesn't even exist for that.

You are a truely devoted fan of Transformers.....

Also, I think that it's hard to fail more than Michael Bay in ROTF and DOTM. I belive that many fans would love to accept any changes if only they are because there is no more Michael Bay. 2007 and 2014 are not so bad, but still with good director both of them could would have been propably better.

I challenge you to think of the alternative universe where Tommy Wiseau directed the transformers movies or at least one.

Tommy Wiseau!!!!!!!! Thats a bit of a challenge. The movie with that kind of director should just crawl in a hole and die! If a person that had 4 years of life and had the name "transformers movies" It would crawl in a hole and die if its new father was Tommy wiseau

Exactly. For the life of me i can't understand how people who want a live action transformer movie 90% transformers and 10% humans can't figure this out. What's even more comical is to this day, no one can seem to respond to this either.

I think AOE was a huge step in the right direction. All the autobots had actual lines, and dare i say personalities. Even poor Ratchet had more lines in this movie than proabaly the previous 3 combined. Like Bay or not, he is listening to us. But there is a balance that needs to be kept. Like it or not, these movies have been successful world wide. So in the eyes of Paramount and Hasbro (and 95% of the general public) this forumla is working just fine.

The problem is while you believe there are better directors out there than Bay (which I wouldn't necessarily disagree with you on), by the same logic, you have to realize that there are directors out there that are far worse. You either can't or won't admit this . While good, could the first and 4th movie had been better? Of course. Everyone's personal taste is different there for depending on who you talk to any movie can be improved on.

This thread shouldn't even be open. It's all based on bull from a less than reputable source and will bring out the worst in people.

I'll say this:

Let Bay step down, but let him pick a director he trusts, such as Liebesman who directed TMNT (and it was actually quite enjoyable) and see what happens. If it crashes and burns, Paramount and everyone else involved with heap money at Bay's feet to get him to come back for 6, he'll turn it around with his usual craziness and knock it out of the park in terms of both box office and the audience.

The critics will hate it forever, simply because they can't find anything better to do. I'd much rather they didn't watch the movies at all, seriously. Such a bunch of buzzkills.

But, someone mentioned Tommy Wiseau... Get him and Uwe Boll to film it together. Oh man, the critics will go out of their way to love it because it's so art house and risky and shows Hollywood is willing to go places they never had before. The audience will hate it, the box office will be terrible and they'll rehire Bay and he'll turn it around.

In any scenario, looks like Bay will most likely be back before it's all said and done. Although, if Liebesman did it, I have high hopes that he could pull off a pretty good TF movie.

Acutally, Rampage was quite good, and Postal, when not so great either - never was considered to ruined this famous video game series forever, when Bowl's movies almost always are low-budged productions. So I can see Boll creating better Transformers Movie, if Hasbro find a way to control him.

Autobot032 wrote:Let Bay step down, but let him pick a director he trusts, such as Liebesman who directed TMNT (and it was actually quite enjoyable) and see what happens
The main problem is that Liebesman seems to be younger and more intelligent version of Michael Bay. He is able create some good summer blockusters, but I'm not sure did he could restore Moviveerse at least to it's former, not-so-bad state from the first movie.

New TF5 rumor

There's a supposed rumor going around about TF5 that Unicron is supposed to appear as a planet sized Transformer. And he is also supposed to be the evil twin brother of Optimus Prime. What do you guys think of that?

I'm thinking that without sources we're not thinking much of anything.

The latest I saw is that the next film is Beast Wars, with Rodimus fighting Unicron, Megan Fox and Shia LaBeouf returning and Michael Bay not directing.

Bonekil, and this goes for everyone, please don't post things like these without citing the sources that provided any such info. Without it, it's just hearsay and what seems to be borderline rejected fanfic material.

We want people to come to us with news, we want them to share their sources, but it must be legit and not "he tell me!" stuff that's clearly fake. (Or at least fake, until proven otherwise.)

BTW, we already have a rumor thread going, please use existing threads to make new posts, not new threads. Thanks.

With that said, I'll be moving this to the topic that's already in progress.

EDIT: Posts have been moved and topics merged. Title changed as well. Rumor threads are fine, but please keep all rumor posts in this thread. If they become reality, those once rumored topics within this thread can become separate legit details threads so we can discuss each item as it comes.

Thank you, everyone.
