Anyhoo, I'd buy Ironhide. If you don't like the MPG, then modify it. To me, it's worth it to own that truck. Mostly 'acoause it's American, not some import trash.
Like the Prius.

...import trash?

1.) Americans do help build those cars, so when you diss the cars, you diss the people behind them.

2.) If companies like GM and Ford would produce a quality vehicle that doesn't turn to sh*t every twenty minutes, you'd see people buying more domestic vehicles. Toyotas burn oil, this is true, but they're dependable. There's one in my hometown (32 miles north of me) that has over 400,000 miles on it and counting.

I've never owned a Ford, GM, or Chrysler family vehicle that's accomplished that.

Ford Escort: three different models...all of them had their head gaskets blow around the 120,000 mile mark. Not to mention the interiors fell apart long before that point.

Ford Taurus: Motor mount shattered, engine dropped on transmission and ruined it.

Ford Tempo: See Taurus.

Buick Skylark: 1985 (I think) and 1991 models, head gaskets blown. 110, and 95 respectively.

Chrysler New Yorker: 1991 electronic transmission died, right on I-90 and had to be pushed by hand to the next exit. (a little over 78,000 miles on it.) Something about a band slipping or something.

Dodge Spirit: 1995, made entirely of sheet metal, styrofoam and plastic. The reason my dad's in a wheelchair. The car's nose collapsed and crushed his legs in a car wreck. The other car (a Buick) had only moderate damage and was able to be driven away from the accident. Before the wreck, the ignition went...and it wasn't covered by a bumper to bumper warranty until the State Police were called.

We've had Toyotas and Nissans and they ran well into 150+ with no problems. The only catch (and I admit this is a big one) is the price of repairs. But at least they covered their work.

So now that you know Americans help build some of those foreign cars, and domestic cars don't hold up as well anymore, perhaps you might rethink the next time before you hit the post button.

EDIT: the cars were serviced as required and kept up with and they still went to crap.

Oooh very nice, now pardon me while I have a heart attack and die seeing the price and MPG. As amazing as it would be to have one of these monsters sitting in my spot outside I'll stick with my little car.

F the price of gas. My jeep only gets avout 13-14 MPG anyway.

F teh environment, its doomed anyway.

If I was in the market for a lumbering eighty thousand dollar behemoth or a third car, I would totally buy it. Maybe one day in the future I'll nab a used one.

7.5 mpg ROFL. OMFG. If you buy that you should be forced to go fight for oil in the middle east for at least 10 years minimum.

Yea I am not really a fan of GMC at all as a company though sometimes they do have nice concepts. I am die hard Jeep, but since Jeep is owned by Chrysler (meh) I suport the other "family" groups like Dodge. Ford is pretty good as well though.

I just think it is really neat that Monroetruck is doing this package for people. AEV (American Expiditionary Vechicles) does this sort of after market package stuff for Jeeps. Like a V8 hemi swap into your TJ.

My thoughts exactly. If I were in the market for this kind of work truck and was a transfan, this IS the vehicle to drive.
Personally, I'm still hoping for either a standard gray Mustang or a blue Corvette Z06...& they're more practical & affordable, yet still TF bling.....especially if you put custom flames on the Z06.

It would be cool to see a Z06 with the fire Autobot logo on it. But you can get your own stuff designed and made. I work for FedEx Kinko's and I used our sign and graphics equipment and made some Con symbols for my Jeep.

Nice modded Jeep. One of the nicest and well thought out I've seen. My wife won't let me go nuts with her Grand Cherokee. Oh well, more $ for my TT.

I'm sorry, I thought that this was going to be movie accurate replica. I'm not spending $81,062 on a vehicle that is stated as replica when there are several inaccuracies. First the mirrors are the standard ones that come on a Topkick, not the small sleek ones that were on him in the movie, second is the runner pipes aren't correct, there was never a plastic cover on them and they lowered them to put the covers on, and third the pipes are cheap, they're supposed to be big fat ones that make big noise, the ones pictured look like they can snap when you hit the gas. And they don't have a pic of what the tailgate looks like so we don't know if thats accurate or not.

I still find it funny that the guy with the pool in the movie even had one of these. He didnt exactly seem like the type of guy to go out and but one of these.

Cost me $6,500 and the only thing I've done with it is fix a dent and install a sound system in it. I get 8 MPG in the city and 10 on the freeway for those interested. 455cu big block with a Holley 950cfm four barrel.

At any rate, I agree. To hell with imports and any vehicles made post 1974!

Man, I saw a black Saleen Mustang at my local Wal-Mart the other day, & it was slick. I even got my kids out of our car to go gawk at it. They got a pretty good kick out of it. I mean, we live in middle-of-nowhere Arkansas....this was the first Saleen car of any kind I've ever seen (that I'm aware of)....even if it wasn't in any way related to Barricade or the TF movie, the car was still pretty slick.

That article, and a number of the following threads just plain reeks of 'Americanism'. Loud, brash and completely unconcerned or Ignorant of the views of the world at large.
Sorry if it offends anyone, i dont mean to sound anti american but some people need to realise that the Internet isnt an American only place and those attitudes are gonna upset someone sooner or later. Those 'crappy imports' your slagging off might be someone elses domestics etc.
Remember there was alot of debate over this movie and why certain vehicles were picked and its 'Americanism' thats spoiled it. Notice its the imports that are dropped. In G1 Bumblebee, Jazz, Sunstreaker, Sideswipe, Wheeljack etc were all Imports to name just a couple.

Ok now my rants over, ill wait for those that completely missed my point to jump on with their flamethrowers screaming 'OMG U R NOT DISS AMERICA!!!"

I work in auto advertising and have already recommended these to my GM Dealers. at first they looked at me like I was on drugs, and after I asured them that I wait till after work. I actualy brought them to THIS site. I showed them the movie figures, and the movie grosses, and more then several decided to carry some floor models!

Behold the power of Liege!

Also I got hooked up with a bunch of prop displays, posters and a giant banner that they where sent as sales promotions.

Oh hell yeah! The world is a big and deverse place with plenty of great things throughout it.

However, America, even with it's errors that still pale in comparison to the tragedies of history comitted by other parts of the world is realy just palin awesome.

And before you say anything about how we overspend, polute, or the war. Keep in mind, WE WORK HARD FOR WHAT WE HAVE, no Amarican is offered a free ride, and that is why it is a land of plenty.

And are we capitalist dogs, yeah, but if your reading this than most likely, you spend money on TFs which although are enjoyable, are not in any way nesicary for anything other than that.

As for American cars being used in the movie, WELL ITS AN AMERICAN MADE MOVE! Let Japan make one with Toyota and Hondas, and get ready for alot of Americans not caring about that aspect what so ever.

And just to sweeten that piece of American Pie, please keep in mind that without America, you wouldn't have the source work that provided you with you car, your computer, both light bulbs and the movies that arose from their brilliant glow.

Love your part of the world, but just remember in so many aspects it wouldn't be what it is today if not for what we did yesterday!

Thats rude, how do you know I'm not Koreanor something like that?

I'm not, but still...

As for where we ALL hail from, well, please keep in mind that unless you where forced(which was anotherthing that started as a European idea) there's a reason why your ancestors left where ever!

I made it a point not to knock any part of the world in that statement. I've traveled alot and seen and enjoyed many cultures up close and personaly, and you know, it's nice that with the way America is, I can still have a taste of any culture right in my own back yard!
