OH my good gravy!

This only further proves how little the designers and filmmakers cared about their product- as it appears to be that a "combined mode" consists of three robots rolled into into a ball like unwanted pieces of play-doh.

Her head is on her shoulder for crying out loud!

I'd say by not including it in the movie, the filmmakers were showing restraint, but I prefer to think they just forgot because all three of them were insufficient in the breast department, and thus not worth their time.

i was really hoping this wouldn't happen. i figured the 3 individual bikes/bots looked so odd in robot mode to accomodate for them to have a cool combined mode. but combined they just look like a bigger weirder version of their individual bot modes! huge dissapointment!!

Looks like there are only two bikes in that artwork...

Couldn't they create a bipedal combination that could also move around on wheels? :???:

The blue one is in the back, forming the backbone.

By the way, did anybody notice the title? "Arcee (Motorcycle Gang Combo Mode 03" Does that mean there are three configurations, one for each bike? :-B

I saw that too, it looks like they might have a rotating gimmick similar to Land Fill.

I would have made Chromia the head, & upper body and some how make the Cannon arm extendable for a combined left arm. then make Arcee a leg and part of the lower body. then make Flareup the other leg and right arm.

This all can change based on how Flareup's deluxe figure is going to be.

then by what is in the art work, i would keep Flareup about the same, make arcee's wheel that is in the air the right leg, then make Chromia the left arm

It's quite ugly, but I don't understand why they didn't use it in the movie... I mean, what's the point on having three robots that look the same if they don't end combining in some way? they could just have arcee, because they didn't gave the robots to much of a role in the movie so it wouldn't have been too much different...

or they could have used the cgi time and money of those two extra bike robots to do two more autobots

The problem here is that all of this particular designer's work seems to be very early (though gorgeous) and quite far from what was used. Thus, this combined form seems to be a combination of three bikes that are quite different from the 3 bikes we got in the movie, meaning that the combined form may be nothing like this in the end.

Disappointing. Was kind of foolishly hoping to see the combined form and think "Aha, now I get it!"

Have we actually heard more-or-less definitively that there will be a Flareup figure?

I'm kind of halvsies on this myself--the cyclebots got VERY little screentime/development save as I guess triplets. Don't know why I'd need three unless they could actually combine. Kind of.

Still, it's a weird combine. Like they went out of their way to make not just the individual figures but the combination pretty darn hideous. Devastator's at least kind of *cute*, in a big suck-up-the-world way. This combination is 'send straight men screaming into the night'.

HK, not that I'd know anything about that.

Sigh. I don't really know what that is anymore. The original movie had weird concepts, but they felt original. The RotF concepts are just not my taste anymore. Sigh.

I doubt it, in the world of concept art when things are labeled numerically or in A's and B's its because there were previous versions of this concept already rendered, and the Art Directors want to see still more. Not different combinations, just different artist takes on this one concept.

God knows I would luv to see these other concepts, only because of all the concept artist to work on this film, Jung is by far my least favorite. Proctor and Nizzi and others just set a high bar in terms of their character design, Jung strikes me more of a environment painter or Promotional art being he seems to have worked on the Poster.

Still looking around hopeful for that Movie Concept book to pop out of the blue.
*Sigh*

I'm a fan of Bayformer designs, but that picture for all I know depicts a mangled mess. I mean, the head of the combiner is located on a trunk of a right shoulder? A single wheel holding up the weight of 3 bikes? Thank goodness it was just one of many concept arts, can't wait to see the others.

Um, I count 6 tires, doesn't that = 3 bikes? I have to agree with the person who said the bottom is the blue "Backbone"...

Still F'n ugly.
