shortround wrote:Just got back from ff4 rise of the silver surfer where I saw a new trailer for the movie. What was new about this trailer is it had bonecrusher as well as brawl with optimus prime in a bear hug. Also they showed megatron very clearly in this trailer straped to metal structure inside the dam with president and member of army as well as secter 7 all present. Plus they have updated the release date to july 2nd now.
Yeah I have seen trailers like this as well with mixed up features.

Well, the only reason I would see the sequel to a movie whose existence is a blot on the pages of history has surfaced. Too bad, though, I shall simply wait to see Brawl on the big screen. Other than Lawrence Fishburne and Doug Jones forming the Silver Surfer, there is nothing positive-looking about FF2. That said...I hope this shows up online. That way, I don't have to wait to see Brawl. What? I'm impatient, so sue me.

The other thing I found out is why it said july 2nd at the end of the trailer. The reason for this is some places I don't know how many are going to start running it at 8:00 p.m. on july 2nd.

No Transformers trailer at my theater.

My local theater had a special ad for Transformers (with FF2), but it was mainly a TV Spot we've all seen. It just adds the point that Carmike Cinema's projectors are digital, so you should see it [at a Carmike Cinema] when it comes out.
And yes, digital projection does make a difference, and its awesome. Worth checking to see if any of the theaters in your area have them...

Here's a Link! Just put in your Zip in the search box to the right of the page.

http://www.dlp.com/cinema/default.aspx

But check with the theater directly because some cineplexes may use it in some theaters and not in others. My Carmike Cinema uses them exclusively now in every theater, but it wasn't always in all theaters there.

Saw ff2 on Friday night. The TF trailer was thefirst one we saw. I'm glad it wasn't a new one. I want the transformations to be a surprise when I see them.

Funny thing is, a friend of mine had seen these trailers and thought the film was gonna be rubbish. Until I showed him a link to the Black lab theme with clips. Now he hates me because that montage got him thinking the film is gonna be sweet.

^^ Are you sure? Coz apart from Shorttound everyone seems to report in no new TF trailers/Old Trailers from their visit. Seems like a gamble to me >_<

I went last night... The only trailer was for the Simpsons movie. The only other person in the theatre got up and left after the trailers were done (guess he was disapointed).

Luckily I liked the movie.

Guess what! Guess what!

My theater screwed up yet again too! Though, this is really no big surprise! The theater I went to is part of the Regal Cinemas group and also didn't show the announcement/teaser trailer with POTC 2. Oh well, at least I did get to see the trailer with Shrek 3. Though, I have to admit that I am a bit worried at the lack of theater promotion for the movie (at least in my area). Of course, I never saw one trailer for POTC 3 in a theater, and look at it's success!

If you're going to a Regal theatre and hoping to see the big trailers, go for the biggest auditorium. That's usually where the first prints received will go, and they usually get the best trailer package. If it's not too busy, you could try asking... most booths will have trailer lists for all their movies on display.

And I wouldn't worry too much about lack of promotion with one chain. I'm not sure if REG is still doing Stars of Hope as their summer promotion, but studios will often throw the chains money to promote films over the summer, and the chains will make it mandatory for all theatres to promote that film.

...yes, there are times I still wish I was in the theatre promotion game again. =p

I saw FF2 this weekend and it had a TF trailer, but it was the original one that came out last December. I was depressed, but oh well, only 2 more weeks till I see the whole thing. Until then I'm about ready to avoid the internet entirely as half of you see it a week before I get a chance to.

Sounds like some good info! I just wish my AMC had FF2, its a much nicer theater and I would have probably seen the trailer. Again, thanks for the heads up!

I was planning on watching the FF sequel anyway, but the possibility of seeing a TF trailer on the big screen made me happy.

Alas, for the noon showing there were only trailers for Daddy Daycare 2, The Golden Compass, The Simpsons Movie, and Die Hard Or Live Free (or is it the other way around? *shrug*)

This was in the Portland (OR, not ME) area.
