From Wikipedia:

"Resident Evil 5 & 6 and Transformers 4 & 5 were originally planned to be filmed back to back, but the decision was ultimately made to film them independently."

Hmmm...

Does anyone have the original source for that? I'm surprised Wikipedia allowed that text without it being sourced properly.

Every day is April Fool's Day for Michael 'mis-information' Bay.

Wouldn't surprise me if it's a lie / April Fools joke, but filming back-to-back sounds like it's a good idea for franchises. Gets everything done in one go, instead of calling the actors back a year or two down the line and having to re-craft things (both real and CGI)

But filming back-to-back that also requires having a director with a brain. One who can think their plot out that far ahead and blend it seamlessly together. Bay has enough problems trying to craft a single plot line...

I would say "I was wrong."

And you telling me to keep an open mind and then saying that I am wrong is most likely a certainty is being a hypocrite.

It's not just you, it's been pulled, but Nelson stated within their forums that it wasn't a joke. I've been keeping an eye on it, I keep expecting to go there and find a retraction of some sort. Time will tell.

I'm very excited about the possibility of them filming Transformers 4, 5 and 6 back-to-back. I'm a little embarrassed that there is so much negativity in this topic regarding this possibility. The movies have their flaws but there's a lot of good stuff that came out them as well. If you look at the movies that are planned for the next few years, there's some very stiff competition ahead for the Transformers at the box office and in various marketplaces. I think having 3 Transformers films back-to-back helps cement Transformers longevity amongst its competition. It's smart business, keeps all of the actors and other people that work on these films together.

Now I'm surprised too. I didn't notice it wasn't being sourced when I saw it..

I sat here for 20 min. trying to type my thoughts out but it ended in tears.

Short version: Movies were OK and the toys were **** and if thats what I'm getting in 4,5, and 6 - no thank you sir.

Which toys do you have that were ****? The toys were some of the best things we've gotten. Leader Class ROTF Optimus Prime is one of the best Transformers toys ever in my opinion. Movie 2007 Concept Camaro Bumblebee is awesome. Jolt, Barricade, Jazz, ROTF Starscream, Ironhide, ROTF Sideswipe, Sideways, and many others come to mind that were great figures in my opinion.

Well in my frustration I should have said most not seem to say all. I am a slow ass at typing and can never keep up with my thoughts so when I want to try to type alot of stuff it gets all over the place.

I owned every toy from the 2007 movie and ROTF. Only toy from DOTM I bought was shockwave. At one point I was collecting everything that came out wether I liked it or not (Hell, I was buying 2 of each so I could open one and leave 1 MISB). I sold all my movie toys except for maybe 5 I think.

As far as the movies go they are good action/adventure movies but as far as a "Transformers" movie not good enough.

Just my opinions, I'm sure others will disagree

The movies are not perfect but we got three live action transformer movies that won't campy (like those power ranger's movie). Plus those designs they created for the movies really helped the designers at hasbro step their game up. For every complaint there is a positive. Filming back to back should give us a more coherent story. I'm looking forward to the next 3 movies

Micheal Bay's best quality is also one of his worst. He's a hard worker who stops for nothing and no one. That also means he tends to bulldoze through a movie in record time without allowing time to do minor retouches and improvements.

Regardless of whether it's true, doing 3 TF movies back-to-back would be a very bad idea, IMO.

The studio's set the deadlines not the director. They set the release date for TF4 long before filming ever started.
