Alright, here we are anew. Instead of making multiple "Vote Welker" or "I hate him!" threads, why not recap and discuss the people in this movie and keep it into one thread.
Alright let me start off, I'll name a couple
Cullen - Prime
Shia LaBeouf - Sam/Spike Witwicky
Bernie Mac - Bobby Bolivia
I'm personally happy that cullen is Prime, I think he'll do an amazing job, and with him as Prime, of course we need Welker.
Bernie Mac

I get the feeling Bernie is in this for maybe 30 seconds. I've read nothing at all about him since it was first announce he would be the car salesman. Which probably means he has a bit part at best thank the lord.

What I want to know is why we haven't heard of any new voices being signed yet.
It is almost February, 5 Months until the release date. I'm no expert on filming, but I'm sure they are going to need quite a bit of time to get the voices right (Match up with the animation).

More than likely they're matching the animation up to the actors. And there are a couple new programs out now that can actually synch parts of 3D models to a voice. Which is what they did in Superman Returns with Jor-El's hologram. It takes almost no time to do and needs only slight tinkering after the first pass.
So since it's ILM you figure they could probably do all the voicework and animation for it in about a month. Not too shabby.

Okay, so it takes a month to actually do the work, but when you figure you have (Don't know what the script looks like, but run with this):
Bumblebee
Jazz
Ironhide
Ratchet
Barricade
Brawl
Megatron
Blackout
Frenzy
Bonecrusher
Starscream
all without any voice actors lined up, you're still going to need quite a bit of time to not only do the work, but to also figure out all the contracts and paperwork to go along with it.

Who's to say they haven't signed people though? Just because we haven't heard anything doesn't mean it hasn't happened. I mean look at Cullen. Those phrases were read while he was at the studio. Maybe he was also recording parts of the script alongside others. If they are using voice actors instead of hollywood actors it wouldn't be uncommon to have not heard anything. Look at TMNT. That comes out in 2 months and the only way people know who are voicing the turtles is because they actively searched through hundreds of VA websites.
Or I could be completely wrong and they're going to rush at the very end to record everything.

That is what I'm worried about. That they rush it at the end and do a bad job on it.

You got that right. Trying to match the acting to the animation is an old way of making animated movies. Now days acting comes first animation later.

I still think he's suppose to play the car salesman who sells Sam Bumblebee.

I hope that they use the guy from Energon and cybertron as Starscream.. He is the closest actor to sound like Chris Latta's Version of Starscream that I have heard.. but I wish there was someone who could do Starscream just like Chris did.. i miss that Cobra commander like voice..HMMM I wonder if they could just splice phrases from the original G-1 cartoon, like in Superman 2 the Doner version, of Starscream that if picked out would be great for the movie, that would also be a huge tribute for Chris Latta and all he's done for this property as well as countless others..

Don't trust IMDB too much, they often believe rumors... Although they list those 2 as voiceactors for the movie, it could be utter BS.

Here's the problem: Michael Dobson, who's been doing Starscream since Armada, is a Canadian voice actor. So is David Kaye, Gary Chalk, and any voice you might've heard in Transformers, with the exception of G1, Beast Wars, and Beast Machines.
I doubt they'll be able to get him. Though it would be nice.
But I've come to use this as my main philosophy for voice acting, and even acting in general: There's always someone better better suited for the role.

Some of these voice actors may assume the voices of multiple characters depending.
Kinda like how in the original G1 cartoon, Michael Bell assumed the voices of both Prowl and Sideswipe among other characters.

Paul Dobson and David Kaye are Canadian? Hm. Didn't know that.

Yup. Everyone from Armada, Energon, and whatever else you might've heard those voices on (InuYasha, Zoids, Gundam) are all Canadians.
You gotta love that country.

Ok, If they're canadian, what's the deal with them not doing the movie voices? Sorry, I know much about that stuff.
Pity, I like Michael Dobson too.

I amid it. I don't understand. Cullen is Canadian born. Why can't these other canadian actors do voices too?
And another question: Who is Jazz? I wanna know.

Cullen is Canadian born, but lives in America. It has nothing to do with being native, it has to do with where you live.

American voice actors have to be paid more because they have to be members of SAG (Screen Actors Guild). Movie studio's can hire canadian voice actors on teh cheap. That tends to be the way most animation goes.

Thanks for clearing up my confusion, Shadowman.
Okay. Now who's going to be voicing Jazz?
