Watched it again in theaters for the third time today. Someone mentioned to me a really interesting theory of there's about why the Quintessons want Prime so badly, and why the Primes rebelled against their creators.

What if the Quintessons created the Primes/Transformers race to build Unicron? Why
Unicron is like the biggest baddest & most powerful Transformer of all time. This would pose a HUGE challenge for Prime & his Autobots.
It would make sense to save Unicron as the last great threat of the Transformers films.
Maybe they'll tease & reveal him at the end of 5 as a cliffhanger. And in 6 he'll be on his way to destroy earth.

What do you guys think?

I wondered about that regarding unicron. Except my theory was that Primacon was the creator instead of the quints (I'd rather neither but not my movies so meh) and with lockdown failing, he decides to send his newest creation at prime.

I think the Creators are Quintessons who need the Matrix from Prime to destroy Unicron. I think Unicron is a creation gone bad and that's why they sent Lockdown for Prime.

Hmmmm no I dont think it will be like that. More like the creators (I'm guessing Primacon) want prime back to lead their armies against the universe (starting with earth) part of the army is unicron who is playing dumb, hiding his sentience while Primacon fixes him. Unicron rises of course turning the creators army into sweeps and heads for earth...

You keep mentioning the creators wanting primes matrix...one problem with that: they wouldn't know that he even had a matrix (remember the quest Sam had to go through to get it)

You could be right. I had thought the Transformers were actually an Army to conquer the universe( The Cube creating evil bots in the first and second film) and the Autobots(Good Bots) were a minority.This was back when the movies first started.
My reasoning for my version is pretty simple. The average person would have watched the G1 series,or any of the cartoon series (BeastWars,Prime,Cybertron e.t.c.).The average person may not know about Primacon and that continuity.These films are for the general public.
Either way, either versions would be awesome!!

Oh indeed, or Bay could resurrect the Fallen and revive part of the storyline from the War Within...but I don't know how that one would play out.
