I would love to see this confirmed, but I'm kinda affraid this is another fake quit. I would love to see Transformers 5 with competent director, and I belive that this is a great chance for the movie. Sadly, there is still a chance that it's all lie, I can't wait for them confir this officialy.

Okay, before this spirals into another Bay-Hating thread.

THIS IS THE ORIGINAL INTERVIEW

It's understandable that he might step aside, simply because of all his other projects.

So before people jump up and down and go woohoo, remember.

NOTHING IS CONFIRMED

Oh and if you can live with that, also remember

HE HAS A LOT OF OTHER PROJECTS HE'S WORKING ON THAT YOU WILL BE SUBJECTED TO

Problem is there is better directors out there...but is there better writers? With or without bay, prime will kill first like in the other movies. Also there (by statistics,) worse directors then bay.

It would have been perfect if they kept the footage from RoTF out of it and just went with the UP footage. Also, having a connection to TF, I can see this being the future of Raf from TFP. He would look like Carl when he got older.

Wait, what ROTF footage? The only Bayverse elements I heard were AoE clip at the beginning and soundtrack. And explosions. But those are director trademarks rather than movie-specific. :-?

Well thats assuming I'm ever going to see another movie with the name Micheal Bay anywhere on it. Anyway the director is only half the problem in the movie. I'm not sure if he had any say in the writing process or if that was all Orci Kurtzman/Krueger, but if it's the latter we probably also need a new writer...although I've heard AoE had the most coherent plot of any of them, and this is from people who cant stand the first three. Anyway hopefully they get a better sci-fo/action director if this is true.

I think it would be interesting to see another director just for the sake of having another director do it, and see something different. Different treatment, different style.

As much as I like Bay, I kind of want him gone, too. Just because I want to see what someone else would do with these movies. And if someone else does direct TF5... I hope it's worse than anything Bay could have ever done.

Exactly my thoughts. I still really like the first movie, and even have fondness for the third one, but its time for a change. Some might say long overdue for a change.

Wait , you want bay gone but you want the fifth film to suck badly because bay isn't there?

Personally, I think bay should finish 5 & 6. Let him finish his TF movies then with number 7, complete change of everyone involved, maybe get some of the people behind the comics involved.

Yup. I want people to want Bay back.

I see, interesting tactic. Though I think your underestimating how much certain people hate bay (despite facts showing he made the franchise successful money wise)

Oh I think it'd be fun to see happen, just to shove it in the faces of those who have done nothing on this site but bitch and whinge on this site for the last eight years, and the countless other websites that take any opportunity to cry like babies over what Bay "has done to their precious childhood".

That being said, you don't really want ANY Transformers movie failing.

That is true, and I am sick to death of the "bay touched my childhood" comments. Tell a lie, I was sick of them in 2007. People on both sides of this are getting more insane and just plain silly. Like the guy who said bay was doing terrorism.

Though when you mention eight years, you make me feel old T_T

Try being a Moderator for most of that time. Image

It's eased off a lot though. We no longer have to deal with the threats of death/physical harm comments directed towards Bay/Movie Supporters/Movie Haters.

There are still some though (on both sides I might add) that just need to step back and take a hit of reality.

Well no death threats is a good thing. Again your right, would be great to get everyone to take a step back, so people could have decent conversations about the movie.

To be honest the only bay film I really hate is RoTF. And he's certainly not the worst director out there, but perhaps he wasn't the right choice for a franchise. If you look at other long running movie franchises like some of the Marvel ones they often change directors and writers, whereas these films have all basically been the same guys on writing and directing. Of course, this has worked out for Hasbro, but even they have to know that eventually audiences are gonna get tired of the Tried And True Bay Formula(tm) and sales will dwindle. Orrrr they could be blinded by avarice and continue to do the same thing...

Don't really want him to go. By now it'S obvious he uses the TF movies to experiment with stuff and is actually getting better.

I mean, look at AOE, it has pretty much lost most of what we complained about during the previous installments and is almost the kind of movie we had hoped the first would be. I say keep him onboard and see where he takes us next.

Hell, I actually wouldn't put it past him to actually make a brilliant TF movie that's super satisfying and kinda excellent.

I still prefer the "Shawshank Redemption" version, since it's not only captured Bay's explosion fetishism, but also his love for lack of any sense. Plot holes are as important Bay's trademark as Bayplosions.

Not this stuff again? Why because I don't want to hunt bay down with torches and a pitchfork? I'm looking at this from the perspective of 'better the devil you know'. Like it or not Bay has made Hasbro and Paramount a lot of cash and sold a lot of toys to kids, I think they'll want to keep hold of their golden goose as long as possible.
