so is megatron really dead, will he be returning for a sequel when he evolves into galvatron.

Personally i dnt think they should do galv, but wat i have been sayin since i saw is

I think the allspark gave him the ability to regenerate (like frenzy) plus he is a major such as OP so yes i think he will be bak!!! lol

He's DEAD. We need to have a huge wake and get totally ripped and all talk about his life and make fools of ourselves and maybe cry a little because dealing with death is so very hard...

This is my guess. You know how pushing the allspark into someones chest they didnt know what the reaction was going to be. So im guessing that the allspark over flowed him with sooo much power it knocked him out for some time then when they dump him in the trench he gets cought on a rock so the pressure dose not crush him when he is knocked out. He comes out of the sea very badly damaged and water worn then he scans a tank or earth vehichle of some sort to conceal that they think he is still dead. The decepticons come back to earth lead by starscream for revenge then all the suddenly a millitary tank that is thought to be used by the usa millitary to defend the earth from the evil robots transforms ALL HAIL LORD MEGATRON then the autobots are contacted by the government that the need there help and megatron is back and the movie begins.

I don't think he is dead, even if he is, he is going to come back. They show Starscream leaving Earth, so maybe he will get backup and revive Megatron.

Okay... there are so many things wrong with that sentence. Replace the word "maybe" with "there's no f*@king way" and I think you'd be on to something.

In the movie, Megatron soposibly dies. In the game, he still absorbs the all spark, but gets even more powerful. The game is fun, yes. But it is way off.

maybe starscream will take over the then meg will come back as galv and then we will hear:
SS-"Megatron is that you?!"
Galv-"Here's a hint!"
*Galv destroys SS*

I think you should edit the title of your post incase some poor fellow comes to the forum and sees that!

No he's not dead! To much of a setup, wiht that they did to him, please, all spark in his chest, and he's still mostly intact on earth. Something "unimaginable" will happen to him, beucase i think it's pretty rare the allspark is shoved into someones chest

I dont think Megatron is dead but NO Galvatron for me. I just want to see him with new Alt mode like a big howitzer or a multiple rocket system or maybe a twin cannon main battle tank.
Galv is way too early to be in the next film.

If you think about it really, Megatron is still alive. I mean they dumped his body into the ocean instead of just blowing it up or destroying it completly. Megatron at the bottom of the ocean is actually simular to one of the first episodes of the original animated series when Megatron and the rest of the decepticons crash into the ocean. Everyone thought he was dead then. Besides you can't build up a character in a movie to have him live for like twenty minutes.

i think scorpinox willl some how go down to the botton of that trench do some work on megatron[maybe pieces of the all spark are still active in his chest and he can bring him back even stronger then while the autobots are fighting starscream and his decepticons friends he brings back megatron will come and start whoopin a$$ then the autobots will have to do some incredible stuff to stop him.....

I can't help but picture the introduction to the next movie will show Megatron sinking into the ocean. Just below him there is a school of sharks that active a spark that turns them into Sharkticons as he sinks past them. Then they gather their forces, repair him and Shazzzzzzaaaaammmmmmmm! Megs is back!

the sharks wouldnt happen...they are biological, and the allspark only affects machines or inanimate objects like phones or vending machines. Sharks are biological and therefore the allspark wouldn't have any affect on them.

I havent seen the film yet cos it aint out here until next week but form what i think is that Megatron will reactivate and reappear and choose a form more suitable for his plans like a heavily armed tank or something more superbly vicious like maybe one of those missile batery carriers where one of the battery silos becomes his arm cannon.. i don't really know... draw your own conclusions

Don't take me as a "G1 purists" for saying this but if they do bring him back I think his new alt form should be a modified stealth-bomber, giving him armor that has a bit of homage to the G1 days including his famous arm canon (but looking more advance of course).

Death is irrelevant! Dead or not, Megatron will return for TF2. And if they decide to stick to the lay-out Roberto Orci and Axel Kurtzman had layed out for themselves as a basis layout, Galvatron will be in TF3, but Galvatron will not be Megatron.

Of course things change all the time, so there is always the chance nothing of their own (unofficial) backstory will be used for 2 and 3.

I tought it many times when I watched Armada, Energon and Cybertron, he always returned as Galvatron..

No. It would be stupid and highly unthinkable to write off such a major character like Megatron.

And IMO the idea of him returning as Galvatron in the sequel is somewhat "too soon". He should come back MORE pissed off. And maybe with a fancy, new Earth-based alt. mode. SR-71 Blackbird maybe? Maybe.
