OH YEAH
Gives me a vague Megatronus vibe, dunno why though
I can see it.

Even though we know Movieverse Megatronus looks quite different:

Looks like the weird horn things are a removable faceplate. Look closely at the face on the full body picture; they don't seem to be there.
Not really got anything else to say. At least he isn't a mess of parts this time; it's a much more cohesive design.

Technically while that's the original Megatronus, Megs originally called himself Megatronus in most mainstream continuities. Now that we have a defined depiction of Megatronus, they can work in elements of him... Would love to see Onyx Prime, he would fit right in aesthetically

I really like this new design! the face is still unmistakably movie Megatron.
Still wondering how the whole Galvatron/ Megatron thing is going to work out. . .

They slide up the sides of his face forming ram-horn-like armor

Man, first three films I was ALL OVER the Movie aesthetic and couldn't care less about the "Classics" line. Now I'm the opposite... ah well.

Wait, no, yeah, I just saw why they aren't on his face... because... because they form Satan horns.
They form Satan horns.
They form. Satan. Horns.
Why not just spraypaint "I AM LITERALLY THE DEVIL" across his chestplate

That is to say, only in the Aligned fiction, you mean. No other continuity (family) has adopted that name history for Megs (yet).

Wow. That is about as close to what Megatron has stereotypically been in most incarnations as we have seen out of Bay. I REALLY like it! Fantastic!!!!

Dunno, I don't ascribe to all the bs terminology for the different continuities, I just know he did it in prime, and a couple other places I think, I seem the remember this being a thing for a while...

In any case it seems to be what Hasbro's pushing for now.

Oh wow! I like! I hope it gets released in a leader class too when the toys come out.
It's definitely nice and with Welker doing the voice again it will definitely be awesomesauce.

Not really anymore, what with the brand team who created the Aligned stuff having been switched out with the current band team that seems to want to push IDW G1 to the forefront, in which Megatron was always just "Megatron".
It's really only been the Aligned stuff (Prime, the Exodus novel, the Covenant, etc.) that had Megatron formerly named "Megatronus", and yet the most recent big deal usage of the "Megatronus" name was for the original evil Prime who terrorized Crown City in the RID 2015 season 1 finale.

Easy: he changed his alt. mode, and his ego wouldn't allow him to keep the 'pet' name given to him by the pathetic humans he looks down upon.

Why did he call himself Galvatron, anyway? I know applying any sort of logic to the movies is giving them too much credit, but... hm. Just seems a bit odd when they made such a big deal out of Galvatron being the human-given name. Which is ALSO weird because when you want to dissociate a guy from Megatron, maybe you shouldn't have 2/3 of the syllables.

Maybe because
actual, competent writers came on board and laid out a well made floor plan for the series, and it needs megs back to being megs; who knows, maybe he'll die and be reformatted into devil gigatron (yes, I know that's the japanese name, but if they're backtracking on him being galvy now, it'd be weird for him to die and become galvy again...)

Best looking Movieverse Megatron design yet. I dig the ram horns forming a face guard rather that a face plate. Totally can see somebody customizing this guy into a Alligned series Prime.

His helmet says he is a knight... the film is called The Last Knight... Optimus is a Knight... the Dinobot's are knights... the entire movie/theme is based around medieval mythology and theme's... so, yeah, it's at least fitting with the direction of the movie
