What did Scorponok scan to become a scorpian? Is that just his original protoform? Did he scan a scorpian? o_O

There are other forms too ya know. ; p Like not on Earth but on other planets. Like those turbofoxes, petra-rabbits (sp?), and the shark..people from that one planet. XD
It'd be safer to say, it wasn't a Earth design.

its not his protoform, he most likely scanned a scorpion, him and black out landed in afganistan, so its not unlikely

To be honest i never followed beast wars and never read up on it or anything so if this is possible then im sorry. But to me that dosent fit right. Here you have robots who can scan living things and become them. A robot scaning some type of tech, Now that sounds right.

WAIT A SECOND!!!!
Were discussing the potential ability for robotic beings to scan & become organic beings in a FICTIONAL film???
First shouldn't we come up with a
reasonable explanation for how they become vehicles XD
Seriously, suspend your disbelief for a few seconds more & enjoy the fekin big scorpion attacking the army ^^

lol. I agree with Justicity where we should enjoy Scorponok's presense. But Beast Wars was a special case. I forgot what it was, but it wasn't just any scan and transform kinda thing.
If it was...then my brain splodes with ??? (guh?)

Beast wars was never my thing. On the other hand i did enjoy him in the film. I had no clue they can do that seeing that i am a fan of G1 transformers etc. and not beast wars. Sorry my mistake. Take my bro for example, He is a marvel comics freak yet he does not follow spider-man or xmen and has no clue what goes on in there books. People have to chill out.

Seriously, if your a G1 fan watch beast wars. There's so much homage to it it's crazy ^^
Best series since G1 in my opinion. & It's set in the same continuity, which is great, kinda like a good sequel to G1.

Prime and Megatron both make appearances. (Megatron even has a short speaking role, though not by Frank Welker)
Unicron does as well. Sort of. Not really. It's kind of like the movie "Contact" except it's made to instill fear rather than comfort.

Unicron & Starscream "appear" (the first in a "flashback", & Screamer occupying Waspie's body) in the episode Possession as well. & Galvatrons mentioned in there too. It's nice seeing all the references.
The best reference in the whole damn series was "Die cast construction, it's a lost art" said by Primal upon discovery of the Arc, classic.

Remember, as with all TF, it is, first and foremost, a kids TV show.
The first few episodes will be VERY childish, but after you get around this, and really as soon as the concept of sparks come into it by episode... urrrm "The Spark" (don't know the number) the kiddi stuff is all but gone.
Have fun, oh, & also remember it's set quite a while after G1. The events of G1 have become mythology & things of the past by the time of Beast wars, so the characters shown (minus one, "you know the one, ehehehehe" to quote Tripedicus Ramhorn) are NOT the G1 characters of the same or similar names. If you wish to read more of the backstory & such there are a few comics depicting the events in the Beast Wars timeline, but none are adaptations of the series. The best one of these is Transformers Timelines: Dawn of Futures Past.
Wonderfulness in a bowl ^^

Question about Skorponok: The toy transforms into an anthropromorphic figure, but he doesn't transform in the movie. He's always in alt mode. So, what happened there, why doesn't Skorponok transform?

it wasnt anything special, the pods fell from space and scanned on thier own, they didnt have to develop anything specific for earth

Beast Wars was great.
I can't remember where I read it, but I think it said something like Scorponok might not have been as advanced as some of the Transformers.,
Also, not sure if this means anything, if you look at his toy, it looks like parts of his body were scanned from fuesages. But this could just be the toy thing, might not be relevant at all.
On his toy, parts of him say things such as .. "Rescue 0360", "danger", "Keep away", "Caution, Fuel, Explosive", "No step".
So who knows. i didnt look for these things on his movie form.
Oh, and in Beast Wars, Transformer technology had greatly advanced, hence why scanning organic life forms (probably all that time chillin' out on earth) was no problem. Bots were given the option to get the "maximal or predacon upgrade", whcih gave them more effiecnt and smaller bodies.
If you thought Beast Wars noding to G1 was cool, there's soem pretty cool stuff in those Transformer Universe books, specificaly The Wreckers series. Those were awsome reads.
