More realistic robots?

It seems that this movie continuity has less overpowered Transformers. In the Universe series you had crazy guys like Unicron, Galvatron, Vector Prime and Primus. As far as I have read in the character bios for this 2007 line, it is MEgatron who is the singlehandedly the most powerful Transformer.

Does this mean they are simplifying the story to an extent?

It's only the first movie. I'm sure characters like Galavtron will make appearances in the future movies. They probably didn't want to turn it into another Batman movie where too many characters were added only to be wasted.

Good point, but what I am wondering is that if there will be such overpowered characters as there were in Cybertron.

Or - are Optimus Prime and Megatron/Galvatron the pinnacle?

No one can answer that because we don't know how far they want to take it with the next few TF movies.

It seems to me, Unicron would be out of the picture. But then again...

Personally I'm happy with Megatron being the main villain.

Oh man. Unicron would be awesome, especially after Galactus was such a dud in Silver Surfer.

Surely we can't compare Transformers 2007 to those two Fantastic Travesties.

And anyway, I dislike Fantastic Four as a franchise in the first place. Ooh, a Yoga dude, a literal Thing (what the hell is he?) a Human Torch (wow, what a great play on words) and an Invisible Woman (I wonder what her power is). What a bunch of super-borings, don't sign me up. Add to that two terrible movies and we got one super-boring fiasco.

Conversely, you can't go wrong with sentient robots blowing **** up.

e/d. Only Dr. Doom and Silver Surfer were ever worth it. 8)
