I am happy that ironhide made it in the movie, But they should have left Arcee in as a secondery character. Im not complaining because she will probably be in part 2. I know it would have been hard to expalain why there are female robots and all, They may touch on that subject in the sequal, But i still wish she was in it. Regardless the movie was still amazing and geek-gasmick! All of us Transformers fans can now rejoice!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, I really like the Arcee design. We really need a motorbike TF for the sequel, and Arcee is perfect. Imagine the great action scenes you could have...

Once more people pick up the toy, and get used to her design - they'll dig her, I'm sure of it.

People have complained that she looks too thin on the concept art pics from Botcon, but if you look closely, there's an explanation for that.

Look, the two designs on the left have a different head and NO BIKE WHEELS! In fact, they're devoid of any noticeable bike parts... so it's safe to assume that designs 1 and 2 here are of her protoform. The one on the right asctually has the bike wheels and the head from the toy, so this would have been her actual earth form.

I agree that she shouldn't have been in movie 1, since there was just too much stuff to set up, but I say fans rally together and get Arcee in movie #2 - the design and character are just too cool not to use.

Never been a fan of Arcee but I like that design that's been posted. Wouldn't be against seeing it in a sequel. Taht said I'd really like to see Prowl.

I mean, just look at that design! Man, I would kill to see how she would tranform, it would look wicked! A motorbike TF would so kickass on the big screen.

I'll say it now, and you'll keep hearing me say it for awhile...

THAT ARCEE DESIGN NEEDS TO BE IN THE NEXT MOVIE.

I'm partial to the design on the far left. Less parts scattered all over, no 'hair', and good focus on form.

I seem to remember her being 9ft tall?

I don't know the whole story, but if she was CGI rendered, was she dropped at the last minute or something?

Your right, She is 9 ft tall. It says so in the concept art. She will prob. end up in part 2 joining bumble bee as his counter part. I read that in the prequal comic book she fought as a member of his squad. I have to pick up the paper back becaus ei didnt feel like waiting month after month to read it. I want the whole thing at once.

Wow! That is the first time I've seen her concept design. It's a little too robotic for my taste (ie if shes going to represent a female side to the TF race she needs to be more elegant) but I like it overall, especially considering the fact that its just a concept and all the TFs in the movie looked way better than their design sheets. I hope she makes the next film and actually kicks some ass. My wife would eat that up!

Yeah I'm not really a fan, glad she was dropped, prefer she is is left out of the sequel and someone like Jetfire/skyfire is stuck in instead.

Well, what I really like about this design is that it doesn't seem like they would have to implement a distinction between male bots and female bots. She doesn't really have anything that makes her distinctly female... just a few design sensibilities that imply it.

I have a hard time believing that they would, infact, sell that idea to the audience.

"Not only are there giant transforming alien robots.... but they also come in FEMALE flavors too!"

I'd love to see this character in the sequel, though.

I do really enjoy that design, but I find the bright pink to be kind of an eyesore. I think it would look much more "natural" (if that's even possible) for her to be a very dark purple color.

nuh uh. IMO and being that i am a "girlie", i say leave her out, the guys are just fine by me. arcee was ALRiGHT. but she didnt add anything special. i was always into the "boys" and their weapons so to speak. 8)

I vote for the inclusion of Arcee in Movie #2 or Movie #3.
Nobody needs to worry about the gender issue, as cybertronians have no real gender.
The Autobots became so impressed by the courage of Mikaela, that one of the arriving protoforms chose to mimick a feminine style.
They just copy things (vehicles) and styles (Jazz's humanistic styles). Nothing inside them separates them into male or female.

You're already a fan so I'm not talkin about you. I'm talking about girls who aren't generally fans of mecha or the sci-fi genre in general. (ie my wife). Saying Arcee wouldn't "add anything to the film" is like saying women don't add anything to the human race. Lets be clear, it's not like shes my favorite transformer, but I always liked her because she was different, and if they bring her into this new Transformers franchise MINUS all her annoyances from G1 she could be a truly unique character.

Well, not really. All the other TFs are "implied" males and that doesn't seem to bother anyone. Imagine if Ironhide had a super girly voice, everyone would freak out "Ironhide isn't a girl!" Well, if he isn't a girl, what is he? A man, I presume? Just look at how I'm writing here, I keep using "he" instead of "it", which is what I would be using if the robots were genderless.

The problem is the Transformers aren't genderless, mindless machines. They're characters, and a character can have feminine qualities and attributes as easily as all the TFs in the movie now have implied male attributes (don't we keep refering to Ironhide as a cowboy of sorts?).

In short, why are people confused with a female Arcee but never think twice about all the other "male" robots? If you can have one gender, you can have the other. Arcee doesn't need to be a female transformer per se, but the audience can equate her as being the female "equivalent" of the Transformers race.

Who says she'd be a whiney bitch? You could make her into a very interesting character.

Face it, if there ever was a whiney bitch in TF history, I say it was Bumblebee, yet in the new movie I actually liked him alot (mainly because he kept his mouth shut, which I always wish he would have done in the G1 days...).

If they can make me like Bumblebee, then they can make you (or anyone) like Arcee... you just gotta believe!

I dont know tht they are implyied male; aside from BB peeing(which could have been left out) and deep voices(command more respect)no reference was made of gender. Metal boobs and a womans voice serve no useful purpose. And with out those what is so female about her? This character has too much of a "why?" factor. TF dont breed and dont have to nuture their young. Yeah, they could put her in there; but it would just be screen time wasted when there are plenty of cooler characters to choose from, that dont require any explanation.

Oh so wrong, Gender does not equal sex. Gender is a human mindset, sex is a physical state. The protoform of Arcee could easily be a female gender. Robots don't need to have
Physical sex to procreate. they can adopt female mindsets, to better emulate the place they are visiting.

I'm a man and I really wish, Boys, would stop and think for a moment sometimes. I'm not attacking anyone, but female robots have been in film since the silent era. Hell the first robot in a movie was female. Metropolis, great movie by the way.
But please you will only have to explain female robots to prepubescent boys, and boys who think girls have cooties.
Some of them do, but that's another topic. (I checked my girl doesnt.   )
Also My robot in my avatar is female, but she has no boobs nor girly face.

I think Jada Pinkett would be a good Arcee voice.
Jada is short, has sas and flair, but also caring personality.
I think she'd be perfect for the role. Since I think in TF2, the robots will definately get more screen time, since they are already created and rendered, The dialogue will be alot higher.
Story purposes would make her Mykaela's "Bumblebee".

Image

I was also thinkinh of Kate Beckinsale. Have Arcee be a sporty lil import Model. British accent for exotic appeal. Make her a scout, with high speed and agility.
Im biased towards Kate Myself simply because she'd make a perfect British psylocke. But Jada since shes done tons of voice work and has a flair for it.

Oh!! She look soo sexyyyy robot form (the female body form)there is somepart just too thin, but allover I like her.

Her face'form is look similar to Prime. Provied her with the pink colour ...Ammmmmmmm like I can smell you... Girl
So she will be Migalla's competition as the S E X Y ..Female

if with Kate Beckinsale's voice, that should be ok or whoever that can handle the right voice for her.

For prequel, I just to want to male robot story, all male deep voices, man to man battle so agree that they didn't put her in the prequel.

I am no problem if they want to put her in sequel as long as they can handle her in the right place in movie and made her worth instead of Oh!!!! take her out...

For starters gender personalities are not universal. Animals;insects, all display a very diverse spectrum of "female" behaviors. You want her to display human female charcteristics. Human female personalities are a direct result of their role in mankinds evolution. Such as being nurturing and cautious. Transformers dont have young to protect and rear( a large influence on the female personality) nor do they need to be curvy and attractive or flirty or any of that for (I hope) obvious reasons.

That means it would not be natural.

Which brings me to point two. To emulate these traits by adopting them , as you say, Is not how TFs operate. I believe that history has shown that TF's personalities stay consistant regardless of form or planet.

Now you could get around this by making the female large strong and aggressive... but then how would you tell the differance?
You could just give this "mindset" to the standard TF- if it is the personality your after.(Although it will just come across as gay) Seriously though, many men display this "mindset" without the high voice and the sexy curves why not an asexual robot? But if you need her to be sexy; to resemble a human female in shape and tone, then you have to explain why they are shaped that way and why are there differances in their voices. What reason would it have come about? No good evolutionary reason. Just coinsidance that this random development resembles human females?

... but female robots have been in film since the silent era. Hell the first robot in a movie was female. Metropolis, great movie by the way.

And that has to due with this universe how?

PS Your avitar has childbearing hips and breast shaped chest plate. Not to mention it is pink. If you told me it was an exo-suit for a human I would assume it was for a woman.

Arcee's sexy curves can be a result of the motorbike alt mode chosen. I mean a realistic motorbike design.
Unlike in the case of G1 Wreckgar, the boxy bike was very unrealistic.
Although it's still possible to make a masculine figure out of a realistic police motorbike.
