Have you ever wanted to act in a Transformers movie? Well you potentially can since Parmount has now called for auditions in both the Detroit (Michigan) and London (England) area. The audition are for new lead and supporting roles as well as doubles, stand ins and extras. You do not need to be currently represented to participate, you only need to be legally allowed to work in these filming areas.

This casting call features links to tips and guides if you are new to auditions.

As far as casting news for this new movie, the only returning actors confirmed so far are Mark Wahlberg and Peter Cullen.

Best of luck to all of you!

Will, you may want to edit that post ;-) I mean I've never heard of londong ;-)

It would be cool to be an extra in this but sadly I'm far too removed from the London area

Well see you guys later going to audition maybe I'll drop a hint or too about filming!

I wish anyways I have been taking acting/Drama classes for a long time I finished my last class in 2015 I probably wouldn't get a lead role but I would always love to be an extra or side character though recently I think being a voice actor would be better for me since I can do some decent voices but I'm not particularly handsome enough to be a actor or anything.

But then there is also the fact I can't even fly to London due to the lack of money Man I just wish I could.

No need to be handsome to be a popular actor. Just look at Andy Serkis

I am so doing this thing!

And I am an amateur actor (rehearsing for my 9th production with my local drama group currently) so this would look awesome on my growing acting portfolio thingie. :D

You got any tips for an aspiring actor on how to get classes and such?

It's kinda my long term career goal well I would prefer being a voice actor but a normal actor was what I first wanted.

I don't think I'm skilled or experienced enough to be giving out advice but just being part of a local theatre group is among the best thing a beginner can do. I've had a wide range of roles with my group ranging from drama to comedy and Shakespeare to tap dancing in silver sequinned top hat & tails (still not sure how that one happened). Currently rehearsing for the musical Sweeney Tood - The Demon Barber of Fleet Street and even though I'm just in the ensemble for this one (it's a HARD show and you have to be pretty damn awesome to even attempt the leads with all those complex songs and stuff) I feel I'm already gaining a lot of new singing experience from the musical directors coaching us every rehearsal (which in turn helps develop a more powerful and flexible speaking voice for roles too). Plus it's fun and you meet cool people and due to folks who run it having all sorts of contacts in the business you get to go on trips to see shows or take your production on a bit of a tour (usually performing at Edinburgh Fringe each year.. though I haven't been able to afford that cos it's a costly trip for the week and accomodation) and also you get professionals come in and share their wisdom and get you to play with characterisation and help you develop as an actor. I originally joined because I have social anxiety and was even agoraphobic for a while so to go from hiding in my then flat for weeks on end some years ago to then performing on stage acting, singing and dancing without any even stagefright means a lot to me and that joining the drama group was probably the best decision I ever made.

Thank you for sharing your experiences I'll see if some my Teachers know about any local theater groups.

Your reason for joining actually sounds similar to my own reasons before I took an interest in acting I was kinda an outcast among my peers either spending my time being alone or losing my temper and being really threatening due to having a really bad mental anger problem as well as depression but joining drama classes in middle school actually helped me kinda like therapy and I have changed a lot since then I have found out that I mostly suit loud or humorous characters acting is one of the greatest feelings to me since I can express myself.

Yes I see it as therapy too. Also escapsism because it helps me to 'be' somebody else for a bit and I can be confident and bold on stage because everything I do and say has been written for me and I've rehearsed it over and over so I KNOW I'm doing the right thing (unlike in real life where I get anxious cos I don't know what to say and when I do say something I then worry it was stupid or offensive in some way). Also it's fun to get to wear all the cool costumes, most of which are clothes you'd never wear in your day to day life even if they look awesome on you (I'm fond of the period piece stuff like when I did Pride and Prejudice or A Christmas Carol). Fun times. :)

Ugh I hate those moments where you don't know what to say.

I agree about the costumes too those are always fun and it always gives me new ideas for mixing up my everyday clothes in combinations i wouldn't have done otherwise.

Yeah I'm absolutely fine on stage and during the performances but I still find myself really out of my comfort zone at the aftershow parties. :P And you do get the post-show-blues where you've pretty much said goodbye to that exact cast and crew and all the characters you spent months learning about and how to be. But then auditions come around again and you try going for another role and see what you end up being then. :)

Hope you find a drama group to take part in and make new friends in it and contacts and they can help you take the acting thing further if you want. I better do something productive (all these upcoming Titan Transformers, ThunderCats Classics and other toylines ain't gonna just magically appear on my shelves so I best make some money). Was good chatting to you. Maybe see ya if we both end up as extras in Transformers 5. :)

Ha ha Maybe we will see each other on set.

If I can get enough money to fly from Canada somewhere (probably would go to Detroit since it's closer)

It was great talking to you to have a great day Carnivius Prime!

Hey cheers. :) I don't know how likely it'll be that I get to be in the film at all but I'm definitely keen.
