A few thoughts on The Last Knight, and the franchise in general.

This isn't story related actually, and I'm sorry if this has been discussed already, but I havent been around lately.

So, from what ive seen of TLK, Megatron and Barricade are returning? Okay, so, what happened to Galvatron?

After thinking a bit, and seeing the returning cast memeber(s?) I came to a bit of a conclusion:
This movie is going to be Nostalgia bait.

What I mean by this, is we have megatron, we have soldier guy(s), we have barricade, and on top of everything, when this comes out it'll be the 10 year anniversary of The Transformers film franchise.

It makes sense from a marketing standpoint, but personally, I'm just done with this.
Retrospect is a terrible thing when coupled with time and the re-use of old concepts, but now they're doing this?

I don't know if it was ever confirmed, but AOE was totally supposed to be a reboot originally, right? I mean, completely new cast, and two separate villains that are never on screen at the same time, and optimus just suddenly flying off at the end when he was originally supposed to gain that ability from the sword...You get a distinct feeling that part of the story was cut out for the sake of the other, there are two stories slamming into eachother with very little cohesion in AOE, and no mention of prior characters in it only cements that for me.

The reason I bring this up is because of the returning character(s) in TLK.
Why just return now, other than to get the "story" back on track? It just bugs me. They could have had something new and interesting but no.

I hope im wrong, but I really don't have enough faith in this franchise for that to think they'd ever have an original concept up their sleeve for this.

I honestly don't know if 5 being a nostalgia trip will be a good thing or a bad thing, but it stinks of them trying to set up more stuff for this cinematic universe, when really it should have died at DOTM.

I used to be a defender of the movies, but now I can't find myself enjoying any of them aside the first one. I'm just tired of it. They all bleed together in my mind, and the first one, along with bits of the second one, stick out to me.

I don't know, it's 5:30 and I havent slept :BANG_HEAD:
