As a fan of all these franchises as well, I do not like the direction Disney is going with SW, but not because of female characters, its just because TLJ was a genuinely bad film. Captain Marvel was pretty meh...but not because its a female lead film, but because IMHO Brie Larson really isn't a great actress. Bumblebee on the other hand was a genuinely fun, and enjoyable movie. It isn't perfect, but there is very little to complain about. Hailee Steinfeld , John Cena & the supporting cast did very well.

If you take issue with some of the comments made by Christina Hodson, I would say, don't worry about it. It is a great movie because EVERYONE involved seemed to really care, regardless of gender.


Also I imagine in the near future Screen Junkies will likely do an Honest Trailer for Bumblebee (Voiced By Jon Bailey)...will it be newsed as well? ...actually thinking about it, they might not, since they actually like the film

No.

People are jumping to conclusions again. All that is said is they are not picking up where the previous one left off, which we reported multiple times. Doesn't mean Bayverse is dead or anything like that, just that they wont follow up on the Unicron thing. Its still a Transformers sequel and another addition to the existing franchise.

Hailee Steinfeld wasn't signed on for the role just because she was a female,they made her the main character because of her performance in the movie Just Past 17. That was a coming of age story, and so is Bumblebee so they saw her as a perfect fit. Also, I guess Paramount may have decided to make a Strong Female lead, after the previous movies treated women like sex objects.I mean in the first one the objectification of women wasn't super bad but in subsequent movies, especially RoTF yeeaahh... Anyway I think it was a good choice.
