If you could reboot the movies...

So after the unmitigated disaster that was The Last Knight, I think we can all agree the movies are in need of a shake up, be it through a full reboot or simply by making sure the next movie doesn't suck. But in the absence of any means to actually have any say in what happens, let's get creative and put our armchair director hats on.

So, comrades, let's suppose YOU were tasked with completely rebooting the movie franchise and starting from scratch. You have full creative freedom and can theoretically do whatever you want with the license, with one single caveat- it has to be an original universe. It can't be an extension of G1 or the "old" movieverse or a live-action IDW or whatever- you have to make your own story. Obviously, you CAN borrow names, characters and concepts from existing fiction, because it IS Transformers. Beyond that, anything goes. Genre, effect types, cast, age rating, setting, whatever. This is an ideal world after all.

Budget isn't a concern here (unless you want it to be). You can pick anyone to be involved as long as they're actually alive. You can either pick a director (and stay on as "creative director") or alternatively you can just assume through the power of imagination that you're doing all the directorial work.

So with all that out of the way, what would YOU do?

(I'll post my own idea eventually, I was going to include it here but it got rather long)

Just Take JJ, or another director who still know how to works with practical effects, and who is able to make real actor convincely works with computer-generated character (something Bay has never ben able to catch up).

Confine Josh Nizi in a concrete prison that we drop in the pacific ocean, then flush the pacific ocean into space.
Then hire Thom Tenery or Christian Pearce instead for general designs.

In term of scenario, I would say anything can works fine, as long the humans ARE NOT the main characters. Public are not as stupid as producer seems to think, we don't need to identify to humans in order to follow a movie.
One human is enough, we don't need 25. Let's go for let's say.. Chris Pratt ? and stick with him, we don't 152 militaries that's we won't remember names and 235 comic reliefs.

Of course when I say everything can works, I mean everything well written of course, not something where every character, from humans to TF are caricatural.
If I have to give writter names, I think I would give Alex Kurtzman another chance. He committed Movie1 and ROTF, but not alone, I think the bad choices were more from Ehren Kruger, as Alex was able to birth Edge of Tomorrow or Into Darkness.
Another choices would be Christopher McQuarrie or David Hayter.

With all of these, we have a chance to do a correct movie.
