Bonecrusher's total screen time is... (and I timed it...)

*Spoilers*
approximately 90 seconds...
That's right, a minute and a half. I saw the movie again yesterday, and I turned my timer on my watch at the beggining of the freeway scene, when you see Bonecrusher (you do see him before during the Decepticon "roll call", but I didn't bother counting that, if you want, you can, just add another 3 or 4 seconds to the total time) and turned it off after Prime... well, you know by now if you saw the movie.
So there, if anyone was curious... I really think that fight had alot of potential, even in regards to a vehicle mode chase... it would be cool if they added a little extra for the DVD, it seems like alot of effort to film this complex freeway scene only to have a little over 90 seconds of it used. Still cool though, Prime's transformation following Bonecrusher's is my favourite of the movie.

As cool as Bonecrusher and Brawl are, the Decepticons could have used more screentime. Especially Starscream.

I agree they should've gotten more dialogue, more conflict within the group, something!

the brief "you fail me yet again, starscream" was not enough, but you can't expect a ton of character development from Michael Bay.

People like you make me want to scream 'til my throat bleeds.
Bay didn't write the movie. Rogers, Orci, and Kurtzman did. They also had to rush the sh*t out of it to meet the July 4th deadline.
Don't blame Bay, and don't blame the writers entirely. The movie company is also at fault. I remember reading that after all of the delays, etc...they were told "This is it. July 4th or not at all."
Considering everything was stacked against them, they pulled a rabbit out of their collective hat.

Mmm...imagine Bonecrusher actually putting up a fight against Prime...those menacing claws and his vicegrip coulda done some damage! Bonecrusher was one of my favorite designs, he just had that "Don't eff with me, I'm gonna eat your babies" vibe.
But looking from a different standpoint: Bonecrusher probably left too many openings with his berserk method of attacking, which gave Prime the chance to decapitate him. That and the the fact that not many can match the mightiness of Prime.

That's funny, especially when the movie actually ended up being released a day early, with the preview showings on the 2nd, domestically, and the actual finished film premiering in Australia a few weeks before
that as well...

No no, what I mean is, it was the latest date they had to get it out. Sooner would've been preferred.

The one thing I liked the most about that fight was the fact that prime was in a hurry.
Prime landed his only punch that broke bonecrusher's face, and after that prime was like screw this and pulled out the blade to finish the bout lol
p.s that punch must have hurt...

Too bad none of that chnages the fact that Bay's name is on the movie and he is the director, you know, the one in charge of creative control, the one who is supposed to shape the vision of the moive. Maybe a little less time spent on Sam and his "happy time" or the autobots funbeling around the back yard and they would be able to give a little more than 90 seconds of screen time to a character who doesnt apear till almot 2/3 of the way through the film.
Appologizing for crappy cannon fodder of a character FTL.

Money, budget, figure it out. It's not that hard. The movie may be set in an imaginary world, but the world that it's being made in is made of money and time. My god, it's really simple. MONEY > EVERYTHING ELSE

yeah they should have spent more time on decepticon charecter development. Its just plain sorry the lack of time Bay gave the decepticons.

I said it before. Bonecrusher and Prime should have had more screentime than Megs and Prime, which was a definate letdown.

obviously, because Optimus
literally punched Bonecrusher's eye out

While I do agree that Bonecrusher v Prime should have gotten more screentime than it did, I was happy with Megs v Prime. Sure, it was a letdown, but the only way it was gonna get better was if one of them died.

And after Sam did what he did to Megs, I'm not sure I'm buying the Megs is dead theory. I'm betting we'll see Starscream leading the 'cons for half the second movie, with Megs showing up later.
I'm just really hoping it's Megs and not Galvatron.

I actually love the treatment of that one fight.
Have any of you seen or been in a real streetfight? They're fast, brutal, don't last long. Usually the one that lands the first few wins because the punchee is too busy recovering and trying to regroup.
That's what I like about the fight. It was a robot version of a real streetfight. No theatrics, fancy gesticulations, no endless firing of weapons that hit nothing. Just what gets the job done.
I agree with Ultra Tron. I love Prime's "I don't have time for this" attitude.

it's all michael bay's fault. i blame him, and him alone.

once again it's quite simple. bay just thinks that tf's are "big f'n robots" and the movie just totally proves that. it was all about the stupid humans and the bots were an afterthought. just sticking a robot named optimus prime in it and having him only say his trademark quotes doesn't make it a tf's flick.

I see your point, but a Director is the person who is responsible for how the film is
interpreted! A Director gets all the accolades if a film is brilliant, and rightly deserves all the criticism if it is terrible! A Director is like a Coach (or a Captain of a ship)... they may not own the team (or the cruise liner), but they are responsible for the whole thing (the Captain goes down with the Ship!)! Producers and Writes often escape criticism... but they often don't get the credit they deserve either!
It's a Director's caper... and Bay is responsible for the WHOLE production! After all, the credits did state it was "A Michael Bay Film"!
