Haven't been here in awhile but during the Transformers movies alot of people complained about all the explosions Bay always used?

Being in the house during this quarantine watched all the Marvel movies and guess what tons of explosions!

So the question is why does Bay get all the hate but those movies don't?

That's what childhood trauma can do to people. Having their childhood be ruined by such radical redesign they aim their arrows at the biggest target within reach because that's the easy thing to do. Doesn't require much thinking. 8-}

Judging one the Transformers films for doing one thing but not the Marvel ones for doing the same thing,is one of those things that is silly,but I believe more people people will realise this with retrospective.

Imagine going to an action movie and complaining about the explosions.

Okay, I'll be that guy. Personally, I enjoyed all 5 of the Bay movies, all things considered. In my opinion, the difference specifically between Bayverse and the MCU are the stories. The Marvel movies told their stories better than the Bay films. Whether that has to do with writing, direction, or both, who knows? But clearly Michael Bay puts emphasis on effects rather than storytelling, and if the effects don't complement a good story, they look pointless, overdone and at worst, an attempt at covering up the story's shortcomings. The Bay films were fine for what they were, but story-wise, they're way behind the MCU, especially the Avengers movies.

Its okay to prefer one over the other,but it's contradictory when some people are like "It's bad when the Transformers movie does x but it's okay when other movies do the same thing".

Not that outlandish a criticism if the explosions are so overly frequent that they start to lose dramatic impact.

Or to quote the bard?: "full of sound and fury, signifying nothing." :michaelbay:

For me, at least? Because the explosions are done in excess, and are done first.

If you ever wonder why the transformers are always moving so weirdly while theyre fighting and stuff, its because they're being spun and twisted around, etc,while attacking, to match where the explosions are placed, in time with their detonations.

Basically, every fight in the live action transformers films are just a really elaborate game of minesweeper, and the true goal is to shoot all the hidden bombs on the floor.

They come at the expense of actual fight choreography, and are just there to look pretty. And really, they dont accomplish anything other than making the robots look even jankier in motion than they already do.
