That's what I did for the recent D&D movie. My expectations were rock bottom.
I just saw it.
And ironically, it's the movie I had the most fun with this year!

The rumors persist that Scourge is a possessed Optimus Prime from an alternate universe. And that last line that Unicron is partial to possessing his victims....foreboding or foreshadowing?

I feel like it just means there may a be point in the movie where Unicron uses Scourge as a means to interact with "lesser beings" like the Autobots and Maximals, like how he spoke through Sideways in the Armada cartoon, briefly possessed Megatron in the final Season 1 episode of Prime, and (for a more obscure example) had his Dark Essence possess Windrazor for a bit in the Beast Wars storyline Reaching the Omega Point.

I'm hyped to see the Autobots and Maximals together. They did an great job with the designs and can't wait to see them in motion.

I'm not worried about the time travel being oversaturated. It's about the execution, Transformers already had time travel stories before.

I doubt it tbh, because this is the second movie in a trilogy. But hey what do I know lol.

This is said to be the first film in a new trilogy. BB movie seems to be serving as a general purpose prequel film.

New Rise of the Beasts TV Spot Shows Scourge in Cybertronian Body and Apelink, Possibly

Paramount and Hasbro are going all out with what they are ready to show us leading to the release of the Rise of the Beasts film. So anyone wanting to avoid most spoilers won't have a chance unless they stay away from any site discussing the film. Case in point, we have a brand new TV Spot below that shows us more bot shots. And not just that, but we see what is probably a new Maximal. While it is also a gorilla, it doesn't share the same details as Optimus Primal. A recent list of movie characters for foreign dubbing casts mentioned Apelink as a character. This may be Apelink. We also have a great shot of Optimus Prime transforming and a good look at Scourge in robot mode before taking on the Peterbilt alt mode. So this is a look at his "Cybertronian" form.

Enjoy!

Even if they are not part of the main cast, it would be cool to see references to other BEast Wars characters.

I'm hoping for an Easter egg or two. I'm not expecting full cameos mind.

APELINK? The exclusive from the only BotCon I actually made it to?

Well slag, now they're getting my hopes up that Shokaract and his heralds will figure in somehow!

Considering the movie makers near complete disregard for most Transformers alt modes, the other gorilla is actually Rattrap.

Given that the alt modes of the Maximals in this movie reflect those of their namesakes in Beast Wars this comment seems silly.

Just sayin'

We Can See Stratosphere in his Bot Mode in the New Rise of the Beasts TV Spot

By this rate, we'll see all the key scenes of the Rise of the Beasts film before the movie comes out as Paramount is holding nothing back in the marketing (and I don't blame them, competition at the cineplex will be fierce). In this latest TV spot, we have a shot of Optimus Primal talking while Optimus Prime an Stratosphere are in the background in their robot modes. Now we knew Stratosphere had a voice actor and we had seen his bot mode in promotional material, but we didn't know if we'd actually see him as a character in bot mode in the film. And now we know that we will. This is a big contrast to similar elements we saw in The Last Knight where the submarine that transported Cade was said to be a Transformer but never transformed.

There is other new footage in the clip, including a scene with Noah's little brother and Mirage (looks like Pete Davidson is getting a lot of lines). You can see the tv spot below.

Considering it was intended as a joke, and most jokes are by definition silly, you almost got it there, Sheldon Cooper.

I laughed.

Anyway, having thought about it some, I'm relegating the Bayverse to the level of the Fast and Furious franchise. I enjoyed the 1st set of movies, even got them on DVD, had fun with the middle few, and will most likely disregard the rest, as the dive in quality storytelling is insurmountable by even the best action scenes. The Transformers/cars do look pretty good though.
