The Transformers Movie has not been in theaters long, and we have already started to get news about the DVD release. Today Michael Bay's website has been updated by Nelson with news about the DVD. According to the update there will be two versions. The regular version of the DVD will come with no extras other than a director's commentary. A multi-disc version will also be released. It will come have the movie with director's commentary and additional discs with tons extras. Transformers will also be available in both HD-DVD and Blu-Ray formats.

I guess that they will be released a couple of months of each other just so I will have to buy both copies!

Actually I probably would've gotten both anyway.

I would love for them to put the 3D models of the TFs as bonus, you could look at them and move them around, zoom in to appreciate all the detail, and have a button or something to watch the model transform, or have their weapons come out or whatever.
I would dig that.

Agreed. that would be a great extra, and would make the dvd more worth it for me. not that I don't plan on getting it already.

Superman came out in may last year and made a late may release. Now I know that they could release it tomorrow if they wanted to but I thik for the July release probably a first or second week of december release. Sometimes they know when its going out on dvd even before the movie is released.

Maybe the discs will be razor-edged like Frenzy's...
No seriously, I REALLY hate when they do the DVD with no extras... Don't you remember the original adverts for the DVD format?
Ah, well.

It would be cool if one of the audio options would have Frank Welker's voice as Megatron. Now that would be the ****!!

I'm always interested in making of documentaries, so I'm hopeful for a nice detailed one being included with the DVD.
