It is going to be hard since decepticons might not need energon to conquer their planet since they don't have one. Autobots wouldn't need worry that much about them since they don't have a leader anymore.

I'd think revenge for Megatron, or more likely, there's an energy source on Earth that the Decepticons try and take; the Autobots have to protect it. Given series one was virtually ALL about "Decepticons have found a new energy source on Earth! Autobots must stop them".

Cybertron doesn't exist anymore in the movie so thats out the window.
Maybe Starscream taking over leadership, Megatron getting magically reactivated by some electric eel attack on his body becoming Galvatron?

I think the first aim will be the retreival and reactivation of Megatron's body from the deep. Perhaps this is where the Aircraft Carrier based Decepticon they are maybe planning could come in??

Was it actually stated Cybertron is irreversibly dead?
I'd like the movie series to slowly take a broader scope. The TFs could find another way to revitalize their planet. It's the body of their God and Creator. IMO, the final two or three episodes should include Unicron and Primus, both alive and kicking, in a giant epic showdown.

You can't have Unicron and Primus, that's WAY too big and far-fetched as far as the Bay movies are concerned.
You would need a *massive* story arc shift to accommodate those kinds of characters; explaining the lore for audience who don't know etc etc. We are talking an entire film's worth.
The second film has to develop characters we already know while introducing some new ones. They shouldn't go over the top with 10 autobots and 15 decepticons and 2 giant combination robots. It has to be more of the same, but better and sleeker still.
The idea of the aircraft carrier connection with ressurecting Megatron as Galvatron is an interesting idea though. Perhaps that could be a cliffhanger leading to the third (maybe final) film.

From what I gather, Cybertron is dying, not dead. Prime just assumed that it's dead now because the Allspark was destroyed. It would be interesting to find out in the sequel that there are resources on Earth that can revitalize Cyberton. They can continue the storyline from there.
Also, I say nay on Unicron. At least not this soon. We don't want another Venom in our hands...

More Transformers and relatively little humans.

I didn't mean for the two big guys to show up in TF2, but assuming there will be like 6 or 7 TF movies (hopefully, at least =D) They should be part of the climax, a climax consisting of two or three films so that there's plenty of explanation and characterization before the big showdown.
And why would Unicron and Primus be 'too much'? I thought we'd be used to GIGANTIC, EPIC and ENORMOUS by now.

I would like to see something along the lines of seeing two autobots saving some country (other than the US) from a nuclear reactor meltdown. I would say Ironhide and a new one, Ironhide gets hurt and both get picked up by Jetfire to the new Autobot base. They could get chased by that countries Air Force (TF are still untrusted) and when they get to base Ratchet can fix Ironhide up.
Your garden variety storyline with LOTS of interaction between the TF's, discussing where they are at with the world, monitoring communications of all countries for anything they can do to help.. blah blah
Meanwhile, Starscream and the rest of the gang land. Starscream talks about reactivating Megatron with the intent of never finding Megs and usurping the crown for himself.
The autobots pick up the decepts with their monitoring of comms and the action takes place.
In the action some decepts loyal the Megatron find him and reactivate behind Starscream's back. Starscream declares that Megatron cannot be found (or too damaged or whatever) Megatron then fights the disloyal Starscream and Starscream runs away.
There are a few things that I would not do in this film:
No 1: Absolutly NO KILLING OF OPTIMUS PRIME!
No 2: No Galvatron. To early IMHO
No 3: No combiners. Too big and too many good single TF's to bring in and explore.
No 4: Don't bring in a couple dozen TF's at once. Only allow as many as you can develop on screen. If that makes 2 autos and 4 decepts then so be it.
No 5: Deactivate TF's. Don't kill unless absolutely necessary. Even if they never bring them back that is OK. Just in stasis forever is good.
Anyway, my thoughts.

So long as it keeps making money they will keep it going. Look at Rocky.

I'm thinking they'll find a way to reactivate Cybertron in the next flick. Remember **spoiler**Prime has a small piece of the Allspark he took from Megatron's body. This could be a plot device in TF2. And then with Cybertron reactivated, Unicron could show up for TF3.
And yes, I would love Unicron in the movie universe. But then again, I can never get tired of Unicron.
