Earlier this week we reported that a source that Sony Music had not plans to release Steve Jablonsky's Transformers Movie score. What a difference a few days makes. The same source, The Knight Shift has received an email from Chandra Cogburn, one of the composers who worked on the Transformers Movie stating that:

"There will be an album of Transformers score coming out soon. I do not know the details, as I am not working on it. Thanks so much for appreciating the music, and all our hard work!"

To keep track of this story and other Transformers Movie news, keep an eye on the Seibertron.com Transformers Movie Section.

Sounds like a definite thing, Can't wait for it!

On another note, for anyone who doesn't know, jablonsky also did the score for Steamboy. If you're not familiar with any of his other work I HIGHLY recommend checking it out, it is spectacular!

It would of been a waste of good music not to release the score ITS ABOUT TIME!

That's awesome yet I'd still rather have a transcript of the score. Oh that would be totally kick ass to play it, whole orchestra. *drools*

Now, what were you folks saying about "evil, stupid record companies who hate us"?

The previous news-item probably only confirmed that it won't be SONY releasing the score.

That score was fantastic. Being a music major made me more critical of scores than most, but I loved Jablonsky's scoring. I'm really happy to hear this news :-)

I saw the movie again yesterday, and you know what? I left the theatre actually sad that the score wasn't going to be released (I hadn't heard this news yet, the only thing I know was the news from awhile back, when Sony said they had no plans for releasing it).

Just the score during the Autobot arrival sequence (my favourite scene of the film, it's amazing - very "Spielberg"), is worth getting this CD. Though the score isn't as unforgetable or haunting like some of the classic movie music of our times (Schindler's List, Shawshank Redemption, Star Wars, etc...), it is still very good, and as a Transformers fan who loved the movie, I would love to have this score be part of my collection.

This news has made me very happy!

If it doesn't happen I won't be crushed, but if it does, I'll most likely get it.

It wasn't terrible, but I prefer alot of moive scores to this one (like anything John Williams did, from ET to Indiana Jones to Star Wars)

This is some of the only good news I've heard all day. I've liked this score more than most in recent years.
