Can some of you smart people help me with this info??

Who owns TF1, TF2 & TF3??

Is it Hasbro, Dreamworks, Paramont or Micheal Bay??

If Dreamworks greenlights TF2 and TF3...doesn't Hasbro have to agree on it. How does this all work.

Thanks for all replies and info ahead of time.

You can be certain that Dreamworks has purchased the film rights to the TF franchise. Especially after 500 million + in worldwide ticketsales.

Meaning Fox, Warner Bros, and Universal could never do a Transformers flick??

Who does Dreamworks purchase the film rights from Hasbro?

Dreamworks licenses the right to use the Transformers names and likenesses from Hasbro.

Hasbro will receive a % of the profits based on the licensing agreement, much like they'd receive a % of profits based on other licensed merchandise (pens, bedding, clothing etc)

Once Hasbro has their share of profit from the movie Dreamworks would more than likely pocket the rest. There MAY have been an agreement with GMC but from what information is known they simply provided the cars as a freebie for their own free promotion.

Some times an actor will get a % of the movie profits but that tends to only apply to the really big names.

Oh ok cool I understand the breakdown of it a lil more now. I know GMC paid to have their vehicles in the film.
