Do tech specs mean anything?

Ironhide's tech specs read 6 for firepower, but he showed a lot more than that in the movie. Megatron and Prime had 10 for firepower, yet neither of them seemed more devastating than Blackout, who had 9. Megatron has a 10 for intelligence, but in the movie seems little more than a Decepticon psychopath.

do these tech specs really reflect their power accurately? For example, if you compare Prime and Meg's tech specs, the crucial disadvantage Prime had was speed. Yet in the movie his disadvantage was firepower and strength/endurance.

Size

i personally feel that mass shifitng did occur when the autobot took on forms of human vehicles. When the comets come down they all look the same size, with prob exception of jazz who looks smaller.

therefore as prime becoems smaller after taking the shape of the truck, megs doesn't as he takes the shape of a cyberton jet. therefore the size advantage gives megs a definte advantage.

As for weapons megs fusion canon seemed pretty powerful when it knocked prime into the building. Also i think prime did not unleash full force of his weapons because of fear of harming the civilians around. megs didn't care.

I think had megs taken the shape of a earth vehicle the battle would have bene different.

The tech specs never match what is shown on screen. Look at G1 Thundercracker, he was supposed to be the Seeker leader, IIRC, but in the show, he wasn’t.

But Leader Prime's tech specs matched his Protoform specs :P that means there wasn't much difference between their bodies, if any.

Even some tech specs from G1 times were strange. Starscream's rank at 5 when he was technically second in command always seemed strange to me and others I am sure.

Yeah and remember Machine Wars Megatron, who was the highest powered Decepticon, but was a puny poorly coloured jet. Oh that was hilarious. sometimes even the figure doesn't fit the specs.

Also I find it hard to believe Optimus Primal is more powerful than Prime, but his tech specs are almost always higher than Prime's (getting 10+ in everything) whereas Prime only gets 10s.
