Have you guys seen Die Hard 4?

If you notice, there were 2 Transformers guesting in the movie.

Prime, appeared as a good guy, helping the main character cop.

While Starscream was out to kill the cop.

Somewhere near the end climax, the two of them duke it out.

Guess who survived?

Yeah. A pity both guest-stars have such a short stint.

Only John Mclain survived.

:) :D

 I had the same thought when I saw that part. Although, that plane was an F-35, not the 22. Single engine, verticle lift. Too slow. So it wasn't Starscream. Updated Thundercracker maybe? And even Optimus Prime doesn't get banged up as bad as that truck did.

Just a shot in the dark on that Thundercracker thing. But it is an F-35.

Pretty wicked if you ask me. I can't wait to see one of those in person. Here's an excerpt from Wikipedia.

Popular culture

The first major film appearance of an F-35B was in Live Free or Die Hard (2007). The film used a combination of a full-scale model and CGI[53][54] to dramatize its hovering ability using the lift fan.

I used to be an avionics tech on jets in the Navy. I have a serious weakness for fast jets.

Heheh, I saw Die Hard 4 first, and thought the same things lol.

Although once I saw Transformers, I thought at one point they were ripping into Die Hard 4.. remember this bit of dialogue in the mission city:

"They shot at us!"
"Fighter pilots would never fly below buildings! That ain't friendly, that's alien!"

Hmmmmm, the F-35 in Die Hard 4 was certainly.. err.. below bridges!
Personally I thought that whole sequence with the jet in DH4 was too much, way over the top. So for me Transformers was making fun of them ;)

I'd rather Thundercracker was something else, Skywarp would make a good F-35.

F-22 > F-35

Nice piece of info. I didn't know there was an F-35. It looks similar to F-22.

Starscream should have been an F-35. With the ability to hover.

Watching the F-35 in action chasing Mclain, it sure looked like its gonna tranform, when it opened up vents for the hover turbine.

Not once did I think that. Though that was the world's dumbest fighter pilot. EVER!!!

That was a damn nice jet though. Hope one of the other seekers appear as it in a tf sequal.

I'd prefer to think of the F-35B as an updated Slingshot (since they're both vertical takeoff). Call it personal preference, but there's something about a seeker as a single-engined jet that doesn't agree with me.

Course if that was Slingshot in the movie, he wouldn't be fighting Prime.

If people think that a fighter pilot would never fly under a building, then I guess they never saw The Rock.

I think the flew under the bridge? Not buildings.

I agree. That's the world's DUMBEST fighter pilot.

Which brings me to think that maybe there's no real pilot. He's just a hologram!

Can a hologram pilot do an emergency ejection?

But then again, he disappeared after the ejection.

Decepticons!

My point is, that's still awfully low.

The point of not flying low in the city, is because the buildings and the area is thickly populate. It's got nothing to do with altitude.

Flying under the bridge is normal.

In close air-support missions, the fighters will fly low, following the terrain below. To avoid early radar detection. And for the element of surprise.

Bridges and open fields are not thickly populated. So it's normal for fighters to fly very low.

In TFM, they said human pilots dont fly under roof lines, but they did that in the same film. So that comment is null and void.

Because the city is populated. So the pilots won't fly low in such area.

I didn't see the F-22 flying low. Except for Starscream. He's alien.

Whereas for Die Hard 4, it's really uncommon that the F-35 flew very low and close. But the streets were practically deserted by that time. So it's still logical they did that.

But the way the pilot handled that F-35, was really dumb.

Later on, when strafing Megs, they went below the rooftops. Although if it was because the city was populated at the start, you could argue they went down lower because the area was evacuated.
