Sign it if you must, but it's a waste of time, and if it did pass, it's a waste of great talent and a slap in the face of the man behind it.

I'm not sure why everyone's got a hard-on for getting rid of Weaving, but this is getting ridiculous.

The only way we'll get a classic megatron voice on the movie is if someone does a perfect imitation of his voice. I don't see the guys at Dreamworks and Paramount agreed on the petition.

Welker might've pulled it off with editing, but Weaving did a great job. I think this Megatron called for a darker voice.

He works well in the game. But they were right with their statement. Welker's voice is too soft for this version of Megatron. The shouting over the battle noise would not have as good an impact. Besides, that would involve going back and redoing ALL of Megs lines, something that would cost a fair bit to edit in and would bump the price of the DVD up.

Now, if you get one going for Welker to do the voice of Soundwave in TF2, I would sign that.

I have NO PROBLEM with the Voice over of Megatron in this movie. I liked it Just fine! Perfect for what they were going for. The actor did a fantastic job. I haven't tested out the game yet. Hmmmmmm...I might have to go hunt it up lol

Be nice to hear an alternate audio track on the DVD for some of the lines, but I don't see them redubbing all his lines.

Its good, but I'll pass. Hugo weaving has already done Megs and it shall stay that way, if it wasnt for Micheal bay saying Frank wasnt good enough then maybe Frank would have a chance in being both the prequal and the actual movie.

Like when Prime says

"ON this day, one shall stand, one shall fall"

Megs responds with
"Why throw your life away so recklessely?"

I actually forget what Megs responded to that line with in the movie.

Weaving did an amazing job. Welker is sadly too old but could still work whit some editing.

Personnaly, i would have loved David Kaye.

No, this is stupid. Weaving was great as Megatron, Franks voice is too old to be beleivable now. Just play the TF movie game to find out.

Welker may not be able to pull of Megatron well anymore, but lets not take Soundwave out of the running. Editing could eaisly allow Welker to play as our favorite Decepticon suck-up.

Weaving wasn't BAD as Megs, but he wasn't GREAT either. :?

As far as Welker, it pains me to admit that he, unlike Cullen, has completely lost the ability to pull off his previous work from so long ago. His rendition of Megatron in the game was off as well as his rendition of Megatron in last weeks premiere of Robot Chicken.

It boggles my mind.

Figure this out for me..

G1 toon Megs sounded hokey.
G1 86 Movie Megatron was PERFECTION. Voiced with 100% legitimacy.
Pretty much everything since has been weak..

Has he LOST the ABILITY to do Megs? Or just hasn't fully rediscovered it. Remember, his rendition of Megs wasn't perfected, IMO, until after two seasons of the show had already passed.

That's close to the voice Welker has always used. It's just the original Megatron's voice was synthesised. People have done that with the game clips.

I'll agree that some of his initial voice clips were wheezy, but it's about as good as you can get in the final battle. The wheeze is what produces the rasp when flanged, though. I don't know why they bothered with Weaving if they were going to get him to do a voice that sounds nothing like himself, AND distort it heavily. It was a great voice, but a shame a waste and didn't suit Megatron quite as well as it could have(if it was less distorted, I'm not fond of Megatron being a bastardised monster like he was in the movie).

The game was stupid, it flanged Prime's voice but not Megatron's. You could easily edit Welker's Megatron to sound more like Weaving's. Come on, nobody is better than growly voices than Welker. He hasn't lost that.

It's just some asses here like to look for any excuse to push "Out with the old, in with the new!". Change for changes sake often isn't a very good idea and just pisses people off. Not that there was anything wrong with Welker and it'd be silly to redub, but writing off Welker like this is sickening. He deserves more respect from you guys, unlike someone like Bay, or Don Murphy.

I'll vote for him to be Soundwave, no arguements. I don't have a problem with Weaving.

Considering his voice is vocoded and it doesn't much matter who plays them, that's a sucky thing if it's his only big role :/

Welker is one of the best VAs ever, he deserves more Kudos.

Do online petitions really count for anything? I know email petitions don't. Only reason I ask is because last night I learned that you can't trust your friends to watch your computer when you walk away for a sec.

I like Hugo Weaving as Megatron. The deeper voice is more fitting for this Megatron. The only thing I didn't like is that it seemed like they slowed his speech down just a tiny bit too much.
