Ratchet A Grandpa?

It looks that way.

For some reason he talked a little bit odd in the movie when introducing himself. Don't get me Ratchet was bad-ass and the voice really suited him. But really he looks and talks like a grandpa. Some of you may agree and some of you might not. But I guess grandpa suits him?

In my fanfiction, Ratchet gets this attitude when he's not fighting. He's kindly, and almost slightly bumbling and flustered, like when he tripped over the wires in the movie. The human kids end up call him 'Uncle Ratchet' :P

But yeah, 'grandpa' is pretty much spot on.

Goddammit I hope you get banned.

That was funny - but in a way that you deserve to get banned.

I had said old country doctor (like a Bones McCoy with a heart of gold), but grandpa would definitely work. Point is, without the gun, he's just a kind, gentle old soul.

I'm guessing it was nasty? I normally don't click links I have no idea about.

Care to explain?

O_o

Someone in the toy forum posted a link to eels flying out of someone's butt, so it couldn't have been as bad as that....

Edit: it was the same guy. Don't know if it was the same link

Can a mod please check the toy forum under "Transformers you regret not buying" or something like that. He posted an obscene link.

Weird.
Anyhow, he did strike me as old grandpa. Sure looked like it.
You'd think it'd suit a veteran of war and a doctor.

O_O...you're kidding me right?

Eww. I thought stuff like that was a bannable offense?!

Gross.

I wish I were kidding. And surprisingly, nobody in that thread complained about it. I guess it's ok to post that garbage, because it hasn't been removed yet from that toy thread. All it said was "this" and I clicked on it. Behold, ass eels. To Tchaikovsky, no less, if I am not mistaken. :(

No one complained about it until you did (I don't think anyone paid attention to it to be honest).
He is banned so please drop the discussion about him.

He did strike me as an old soul. He's been through thousands of battles and had to repair comrades countless times, he's seen it all. I see him as somebody that may not like what he does so much anymore, but he knows when to take care of business.

He reminds me a lot of my own Grandad, a former Marine (fought in Korea and got the Purple Heart), who was also one hell of a mechanic. And as they say, Once a Marine, Always a Marine.

You are right, I should've shut up about it. I'm sorry, I have had a horrid day. One of my friends nearly died and I've been kind of edgy and neurotic all day.

Thank you. She is ok but her husband's face has been destroyed. It seems everything is setting me off today. Normally I am a lot more mellow and don't let things like that bother me.

Ironically Ratchet is not the oldest of the Autobots. Ironhide is. That or Prime, but Ratchet is waay less cynical than his buddy Ironhide.

It is, it's absolutely terrible. A prime example on why you shouldn't have guns if you have mental issues. But let's get this thread back on track. :?

I think Ratchet had a nice gramps-like quality to him, and it was the reason I liked him in the movie. They hired a terrific voice actor for him.

Ironhide is the oldest, then Ratchet, then Prime.

Jazz and Bumblebee are debatable, but I'd say Jazz is slightly older, considering he's Prime's first lieutenant.

Are you sure Ratchet is older than Prime? I haven't read that anywhere and I assumed that Prime is at least second oldest because he was co-ruler of Cybertron, alongside Megs.

Jazz is definitely older and more experienced than Bumbles. He's smooth, suave, adept at learning foreign cultures. If he had landed in China he would be a real Han gentleman.
