I just read that actor Darius McCrary (Jazz in the film) hinted that Jazz might return in a sequel thanks to the fragment of the allspark Optimus pulled from Megatron. However it is just a rumor.

Exactly that. Just a rumour.
Also take into account that NOTHING has been confirmed for the sequel other than "we'd like to do it".
Therefore I highly doubt a little known voice actor would be privy to such details.
Did I mention that Jazz is dead and the Allspark was destroyed and that the fragment Prime removed was to show the movie going crowd that it was destroyed?

There is only slight chances that Jazz might return. But why would Optimus Prime say after he picked the small piece of the Allspark that "We had a lost a great comrade." I am sure he wouldn't of said anything at all if they were going to bring hi m back.

If they could bring him back surely he'd have said "Ratchet, do you think you can bring him back with this?" Instead of a variation of "Meh, he's dead... he was a good fighter... whatever..."

Yer... exactly my point. But Jazz was a good character I would rather not anyone of those Autobots die.

Optimus pulled the piece of the allspark out of megs after finding out about Jazz's death. And thers a possibility he can return, that fragmant does allude to something obviously, but im with Burn on this, we dont know, lets not talk about it anymore till we know which characters are in the sequel.

Even though Jazz died an honorable death, it sucks that he was killed off before we got the chance to know him. He'd better be brought back to life.

No, he was the worst. Definitely the worst and definitely deserving of being killed off so we're never graced with his presence ever again.

As long as Bumblebee wasn't the one killed I'm ok. And it would've sucked seeing Ironhide and Ratchet killed again. So if Rap...I mean, Jazz had to die, so be it.

Indeed, being the sole survivor of the TF Movie (1986), it was now Jazz' turn to push up the daisies.

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha! Pull the other one! 5 minutes of screen time, A bit of break dancing and some embarrassingly forced street speak, i.e "Wassup bitches!", does not a 'good' character make. It doesn't even constitute a character in my book.

The ghost of Jazz is going to return. And he's going to be evil. And not just evil, EEEEE...VIL. And he's going to make everyone cry because he's calling them bitches and hos, all hip hop style. He'll be the Don Imus of Transformers.

In G1 Redeco Jazz's bio it says he was rebuilt by Ratchet and got a new paint job after the events in the movie. So he does get repaired and lives on, if only "unofficially" for now. Like someone said about this subject in another forum, it's like how Boba Fett was meant to survive, though it wasn't shown in the film. So as far as I care, Jazz isn't really dead.

I wondered when someone would raise the issue of the repaint's bio. Like glitched9700 said, it's just Hasbro's cheap and unimaginative way of selling a repaint aimed at the G1 enthusiast market and little children upset by the death of Jazz.
Bios, are rarely canon.
He's dead.
Accept it.

he's dead but dont knock him, he was a good character, way better than ratchet, and the writers stated they chose him to be killed off because after optimus and bumblebee he was the next most popular character, and they want the death to have an impact which it did, as i don't seen to many forums on megatron or brawl or any of the other decepticons with fans wanting them back. Jazz so far has the largest group behind him for his return, well maybe megatron has the biggest but jazz is 2nd to him thats for sure!

I think jazz got killed because they needed to kill off one of the characters and Jazz was the only one without a specific position, Optimus wasn't going to die(again) bumble bee is sams protector, Rachet is the medic and Ironhide is the weapons specialist jazz is just a lieutenant poof DEAD. There is that and that it was Michael bay's least favorite character he only got that car with the GMC deal

How would the writers know if he was popular or not?
and they want the death to have an impact which it did,
Yeah, a lot of people jumped for joy while others went "yay repaint! he'll be back because of a cheap lame bio!"
i don't seen to many forums on megatron or brawl or any of the other decepticons with fans wanting them back.
Probably because oh ... they're the bad guys and it's not common for people to want bad guys to come back?
Jazz so far has the largest group behind him for his return,
With an equal number wanting him to stay dead.
If people thought the writing for this movie was bad, bringing Jazz back to life will just make it worse.

The way the Autobot characters (other than Prime and Bumblebee) were protayed, especially Jazz, I very much doubt anyone outside of the fan commuinty could care less if he was to return in the second movie. Jazz was portayed as nothing more than vacuous and expendable throughout the entire movie, he wasn't an important character he was cannon fodder.

Exactly!
No one other that G1 fans, or general collectors like myself, will give two thoughts as to Jazz's return. He was a bit-character.
Look at G1, when someone died they stayed dead. I don't get why people are positive he'll be back when only Optimus Prime, a pretty big & well developed character, has (properly) died & come back in G1.
(Of course I'm not counting into that things like Ultra Magnus's "death" as he was rebuilt in enough time that Galvatrons attack didn't kill him. Nor am I counting things like Megatron & the insecticons death, as they didn't really die, they just got reformatted.)

I think only G1 Jazz fans had feelings for movie Jazz.
He is the smallest of the autobots and yet is the 2nd in command because of his link to G1. I find him irritating and a big joke.

I didn't want to see any of them die either.... I really wish they Jazz had more screenplay and character development in the movie. But then, his eventual demise would have been much harder to swallow. I know it was, even still, for me.
