I think it would be too expensive for television but I may be wrong.

I think that would rock, though the story would have to be a bit differnent and you might not get all the details of the transformers. Considering though how advanced CGI is now it's a possiblity.

Hummm plot wise....

Story starts out several months after the events of the movie. Flying through the sky are two or three of those pods which crash into the earth. One lands in the outskirts of a metropolitan district, probably in the midwest in a cornfeild. At his house a young man, named Charles Chase, Chip as his friends call him, is working on some reports when his computer goes down and a sos message seems to appear on screen. He decodes it and realizes that it's not from this world. He hurries over to the crash sight, people are driving over and finds a hole in the ground. Searching around the woods he discovers a giant metal robot which he quickly patches into his laptop with some help from the robot. The scanner system comes on and it scans one of the police cars. The car then thanks him for his help and introduces himself as prowl and from there...the story starts with Prowl trying to get intouch with the other Autobots, and at the same time you have Soundwave and a few other cons showing up.

I can see the cast consisting of
Prowl -Leader of the group
Sideswipe -communications
Arcee -second in command
Sunstreaker -spy
Wheeljack -mechanic
Hound -weapons

On the Decepticons side
Thundercracker -Leader
Soundwave -second in command
Rumble -scout
Skywarp -spy
Blitzwing -weapons
Motormaster -ground offensive

Thoughts?

no way, too expensive. at least 150 million bucks went to the movie. take that amount and multiply it by how many episodes you wanna see. that WAY TOO MUCH money! where would they get it?

Well the idea sounds badass, and I agree with what Night Striker's plot of the show ;)^

But Mainframe should animate the show, Because I wouldnt want this animated and plus, Since Mainframe did the Spider man TV series between Spiderman 1 & 2, I think Mainframe should and must do this TV show!

Actually, Night Striker, Write up the Pilot script, please *Puppy dog eyes* because this idea sounds like badass in the making ^^

It barely worked on the big screen it would never work on the small screen. The cost of producing all the giant CGI robot stuff would be through the roof, it would have to be mostly based around human characters with the TFs in the background to make it financially viable and I'm sure very few of you guys would want that.

Actually the only reason it barely worked on the bigscreen was becuase the director wanted more on the humans and less on the Transformers, so we couldn't see the intricate nature of the relationships. If the story is written correctly then it should sell. Regarding the robotics, I'm sure you've seen the commerical with the dancing car, that was done for less then the movie. I think if the story was able to equip the best of all three, then the characters will draw in the audience. Besides you don't need to have all the bells and whistles in the TV show that you need in the movie. So that means you don't have to have such an intricate design in the inner workings of the transformers.

That's an awesome idea. In about 5 years it is totally doable.

No, actually, most of the movie's budget went into practical effects, and look what they were still able to do with the CG.

I'll tell you where they'll get the money. With time, and advancing technology, money for the movie's level of effects today will be growing on trees.
