In the movie, I didn't get to see the credits, but found one on Youtube, then I've seen Starscream flying, since all the Decepticons died except for barricade and Scorponok, but HOW the hell did Starscream manage to escape the atmosphere with a Raptor? Only a space shuttle has enough power to fly through the atmosphere.
Not seen the credits?

I'd say the number one reason is; he is an alien robot from outer space.

It's not a human raptor, not anymore.
It's just a human veichle shell built around SS's cybertronian form- he still has his hyperjets and all those other gadgets and gizmos.
In fact, I'm gonna say that was the coolest part of the movie.

When I watched the movie, I clearly saw that he transforms into something else, not Raptor, something like a space-travelling mode.

That Raptor was just an eye-disguise for his Cybertronian form.

YES!!
Thanks for this, I missed it in theaters.
Awesome scene. But yeah, he's an alien robot with the same engines he used to arrive on Earth.
If you listen to the clip where he does the flypast enough, it sounds like he says something in his native tongue, ending with Bumblebee, before firing his main jets and leaving the atmosphere. Doesn't sound like SS transform sound, he uses a varient of the G1 sound. Which is not this. And unlike Blackout, Starscream kept using the same transformation sound.

that was the first time i've seen that!
yeah, he looks like he starts spinning and making that "wah-wah-waah" noise like he is transforming into something a little more deep-space appropriate. like the millennium falcon.

I do not insult people, my friend. It simply isn't good form.

It certainly does sound like he says "Bumblebee" before leaving the atmosphere!
I never noticed that in 5 viewings at the theater. Probably because all five times people were leaving and talking when that scene came on, cause everyone thought the movie was over.
Allways stay for the credits! I hate how most directors have taken to slipping plot points into the credits, sometimes at the very end!

When Sergeant Epps saw Blackout, he said there was an invisible forcefield around him, even though he transforms into an earth vehicle. Wouldn't Starscream have the same thing? That's how he got through the atmosphere.

What I find interesting is the formation of fire and heat around the nose of SS. The atmosphere is thinner as you get closer to space and therefore the accumalation of heat would not be there. Only on re-entry would you have a friction fire in front of you---

How do we know what altitude he was at? And besides, doesn't it make a difference how fast he was going in that case? The faster you go, the more wind resistance you encounter.
Oh, and he's not a Raptor. He's a fricken giant alien robot that LOOKS like a Raptor.

I never heard "Bumblebee". I just heard a transformation sound, then some alien sounding engines.

Are we unable to allow our imaginations to run wild anymore now days? Do we have to have an explaination for everything in every movie? It's a movie. It's meant to be enjoyed. I find it funny how many people accept that the movie has giant alien robots but then they want an explaination for things like, why did his nose burn in the thin atmosphere and why was he able to go into outter space. LOL.
It's like people are no longer able to enjoy fiction anymore because they have to have an explaination for everything. That is why a lot of G1 fans were disappointed with the movie before it came out. It seemed as if everything was made to be REAL. But the movie is fantasy. It shouldn't have to be explained with any other explaination then, "it's a movie. A science-FICTION."
