Definately the special effects will get the oscar. not the acting.

See Hasbro, Transformers is popular in the UK. Now do something about it.

Yeah I really could see Transformers getting an oscar for special effects. Unlike the ungoldy expensive and extremely dissapointing spiderman 3.

TF cost a 100 million, and they made 600 million profit. Not bad. Can't wait for the sequel!

Looks like a three way race at this point. As much as I liked TF, "300" was the better movie...at the very least, can we try to beat out Harry Plopper and the Something of Somewhere?

well honestly, i'm pretty sure 90% of the money raked in came from non-fans and/or regular moviegoers...but i think that makes it even more impressive so yay..lol

No seriously.

Special Effects, yeah. Best Picture, no. Not a chance in the lowest depths of Hell.

$700+ eh? That was seriously unexpected. With DVD sales, I can expect to see it go well beyond a billion.

I saw it 7 times....

6 times in regular cinema, and once at IMAX

Which means,... I added more money that you! Ha.

Oh yes. This is wicked awesome news. I was there for the 8:00PM showing July 3rd.

I saw this six times in the Century 20 (premier) theatre, once in the Century 12 (cheap), and once in the IMAX up in Phoenix. BUT, I went with my sister on all eight trips, and my dad came along for the trip to IMAX.

So $12 per each of the first six visits is $72, plus two convenience charges for purchasing online tickets for the first three trips brings it to $78. The cheap theatre was $6.50 for two tickets, and IMAX was about $43 for three tickets.

My grand total contribution to Transformers comes to: $127.50

And it was worth every penny, every time.
