I got the Target collectors edition and there are no Deleted scenes. Do any of the other DVDs have the deleted scenes or did we all get screwed out of them because of imax?

I got the same one, and there are indeed no deleted scenes to speak of. Anyone discover any easter eggs yet?

There are deleted scenes, but they are shown during the extras on disk 2 as they do the behind the scenes stuff.

Im just surprised that there is no deleted scene section. You would think that bay would want to hear him self talk some more and tell us why the scenes didnt make it. And i know that there are some deleted scenes that they didnt show in the extras. This is just another way for them to make money. Leave things out so they can make another "special editon" later on down the road. Most likely when TF2 comes out.

i knew they were gonna do this. Either late next year or in spring '09 they'll release a collector's edition. I hate buying movies twice - that is if the CE has really good stuff on it. DW/paramount bastards.

I guess I'm in the minority here, but I actually liked the DVD. Of course, I got the special edition one from Target; the one that transforms into Prime. I watched all the 'behind the scenes' stuff and ended up actually liking Michael Bay and his approach to this movie. Of course, I also liked 'The Island', so what can you do? I thought as far as special editions go, it was pretty damn good. Then again, I am not a big fan of 'deleted scenes'; there's usually a pretty damn good reason why they actually are 'deleted, after all.

exactly.... give it a couple of months, maybe even as early as christmas and theyll have a special collectors ed. boxed set that comes in a fancy case, maybe a figure or a bust to come along with it, and maybe even a booklet.... similar to how they they did for lord of the rings.

That's exactly right. Even if they DID include deleted scenes, they probably would only be the ones that were in IMAX or something similar to them (i.e. NO robots, which is what everybody "expects" to see in the "deleted scenes"). With the astronomical expense of it taking 30 hours to render ONE SINGLE FRAME of CGI robots, you can bet they did NOT delete any of those scenes from the final movie so any "deleted scenes" would not contain robots anyway. There certainly would not be any "Optimus Prime vs. Barricade" fight scene. If they had gone through the expense of rendering that scene they would not have deleted it.

What sort of a film doesn't have deleted scenes? I doubt very much whether we saw everything that was filmed. I remember seeing something about which deleted scenes would be included on the dvd, so give me a minute to find it.

There we are. I just posted the link, rather than pasting the full article.

Yeah, the Target 'transforming dvd case' is a two disc set. It also includes a short little comic 'movie prequel' focusing more on the Decepticons. When I got there at about 3 in the afternoon the shelves were cleared, but the dudes over in the electronics section had some extras in backstock. Good stuff! Oh, and I also picked up Longarm while I was there.
