I consider him a TransFormer similar to Ravage and Laserbeak, with an animalistic robot mode and part-of-helicopter alt mode. Blackout, being an alien creature with flying capabilities of his own, has no need for these helicopter parts and can fly without them.

WE KNOW HE'S A TRANSFORMER!!!
Thats why he's in a movie about big transforming robots called TRANSFORMERS......

He has a robot mode, as shown in the figure & Target's (i think) 2nd movie prequel comic. Scorpie is STORED in Blackout's back, look at the fekin' blackout figure.
Seriously, why is this simple concept so difficult for people to comprehend!?
Sorry if I seem a little too annoyed by this, but I've been having this argument since the movie came out. Hell, since before...

Justicity, sometimes a genius' logic like yours is misunderstood.

I think is more like Scorpy being ejected.

I would think it's like an ejection seat.

Heh, also add Scorpy to the survivor list since he did escape back into the ground. Only the tip of his stinger tail was retrieved. For some reason, I just noticed that.

You know, Action Masters were in Transformers and they never transformed. ;;)

As far as the toy goes it could be argued that the G1 Jazz redeco's bio isn't canon as it doesn't occur in the movie, seeing as Scorponok doesn't transform in the movie, why then, should we consider the toy's bio? (And let's face, his transformation sequence is what, stand up and fold the head down?)

And for the comic, it's been argued that Barricade was killed in the comic by Prime, but because it didn't happen in the movie he could still be alive.

Whose to say that in this universe that all Cybertronians can actually transform ...

Scorponok is not only his own Decepticon entity. He was also supposed to be Blackout's engine. (I'm pretty sure they scrapped that though)

Well, his toy does have warning labels that an engine would.

Oh and he's not exploding out of Blackout's back, people. He's leaping out of it. The explosion you see is from the Army.

In Wikipedia I red that his robot mode is the scorpion, his alt mode is the helicopter's engine.

Granted, you are correct about users being able to modify it, however...Encyclopedia Britannica came right out and said they're no more reliable (and in some cases, less) than Wikipedia.

They kinda promoted usage of it.

Do I believe it's perfect? Of course not, but if you see a bit of information that confuses you, Google it to double check.

The special features on the two-disk edition confirm that Scorps is in fact supposed to turn into part of Blackout's helicopter mode. If the people that designed him are saying he is, I think we can assume that wikipedia is right on this one.
