As I was watching this I realized that in the dam Sam says that Megatron came to earth to use to cube to turn our technology against us. right? This was said right after it was stated that they used reverse engineering to create todays cars lazers microchip etc. So what I'm getting at... is he crash landed years ago with this intention. What technology would he have used against mankind if they weren't around yet (well, some was but not all over the world for that kind of take over). It is just ironic(since we used him as a basis to technology present day) and slight plot hole.
I may be seeing this completely wrong was he supposed to go there first and then wait? lol

well he technically wanted to use the cube to turn ALL technology evil and use it to rule the universe....... it just happened that when he woke up there was technonlogy here so he was going to start with our technology first

The cube just so happened to land on Earth. Megatron crashed here coming after it.
It's not like his intention from the beginning was to use our technology against us, it's that once we have that technology he can use it against us when he wakes up.

Quite. I was under the impression that Megatron wanted to turn all of the universe's technology against everyone (even on other worlds) so that he could dominate. Saying Megatron wanted to turn Earth's technology against humans was just Sam's way of wording it, probably because that's what is most relevant to the people of Earth.

Chalk this up to more of the film's sloppy writing, but as an audience we can rationalize this.
Obviously, Megatron's first goal was to secure the Allspark cube. Its power would help him keep Cybertron under his thumb (or is it claw?) When the cube landed on Earth, there was no technology on our planet. Megatron crashes and becomes frozen in ice although we can assume that even though he is frozen his mind is still active. When he thaws out, he can speak English and seems to understand what is going on around him, so his mind must not have been frozen. On top of that, he was conscious enough to etch the location of the cube onto Archibald's glasses. Since Megatron was conscious, he would have seen humanity develop technologically around him. For some reason, Prime knows that Megatron is conscious, and since Prime knows Megatron so well, Prime tells Sam Megatron's goals because Optimus Prime has pretty much guessed exactly what Megatron's new plan would be based on his current situation: turn Earth's technology to the Decepticon's advantage using the Allspark cube.

First off, nice sig very lolz ^_^
Secondly... I can't beleive Steven S wrote this. I mean it's still not a horrible storyline but there are a lot of plotholes that shouldn't be in there. Must be his old age.

He didn't write it. He produced it. John Catwoman Rogers wrote it, and I can believe that.
