So he goes about it indirectly, see? A direct link-up would result in him dying, just like in the movie. However, if he were to transfer it, to channel it
through something... that would regulate and control the flow of power. Trying to handle getting that much power all at once would be too much for ANYBODY. It'd be like all of a sudden deciding to lift weights like a professional bodybuilder. It'd be like hitting yourself in the face with a brick! You don't just start with the full deal. That'd result in some serious hurt. You build up to it, getting your body used to handling that bit by bit. You know, give your systems time to adjust to it. And you dang well better believe it wouldn't exactly be easy on you.
