DECEPTICON VOICES IN THE MOVIE

I thought their Cybertronian language was bad frickin' ass!!! Any time there was a caption on screen I was like, "that sounds awesome!"

It's cool they change them over to English of course but I think at times they need to go to captions and have them speak their own langauge... especially to each other in certain scenes.

They made all the Decepticons sounds super bad ass... imagine what a Soundwave character could sound like.

If they can distinctively make soundwaves voice like the chartoon a little.... I'm all for soundwave for TF#2. But he needs to look like him and sound like him in my opinion.

Might sounda little weird in live action with a monotone voice. Though there could be an excuse, "Damaged in battle" etc.. who knows.

They could do Soundwave like he sounded (pun not intende =P) in Cybertron, only right this time. No dj-speak, just a combination of the monotone G1 voice and a more human, but sinister and cold voice, like Voldemort (Ralph Fiennes)

Soundwave's voice is one of the things that made him a lasting character. They need to get it right in TF2.

they made starscream sound similar, so they can (and better) do soundwave's voice right!

In the scene where Prime was in a discussion with Ratchet, Ironhide and Jazz, atop the while building, there's no humans around.

Makes you wonder why they didn't use their own language.

It should be natural for anyone to do so when speaking with their own countrymen.

Yeah, but that would have diminished the impact of the scene, to be perfectly honest - Cullen speaking Cybertronian just wouldn't have felt right. IMO you just have to take it as one of those 'suspension of disbelief' things, like the first Superman movie where Kryptonians happen to all speak with such an elegant grasp of English.

I think they were speaking Cybertronian, it was just "translated" for us dumb flesh creatures.

Soundwave had better be like Eastwood's Man With No Name. Speak only when you really need to speak, let your actions do most of the explaining.

My friend has a Vocoder built into his synthesizer which can turn your voice into Soundwaves. Hours of fun!

Maybe I should post a new thread about this but... how the hell did Bumblebee get his voice back at the end anyway? Did he get it back when he touched the Alspark... kind of like how Frenzy got his body back. Then he just didn't realize he got his voice back until after all the fighting was over...????

I mean..... not like Rachet had time to fix him. And he had been damaged since Megatron messed up his voice box. It's not like it can just come back all of a sudden right??? (and Yes... I know that on the back of one of the new toys it says Bumblebe got his voice shot out by another transformer other than Megatron but the prequel comic says otherwise)

Plus after Bumblebee touches the Alspark he is heavily involved in a battle until the end of the movie. So maybe he just doesn't realize he has it back until the end???

Anyone want to take this?

This had been debated 1000's of times on here. The official reason given by the writers is that is was Ratchet's laser that did it, but, most folks, myself included, think it was the Allspark.

There are many theories, but i think it was for dramatic purposes. I mean, the fight is over, the good guys won, oh and now bumblebee can talk.

Even when he lost his legs, he still couldn't talk or barley scream in pain

I think has was referring to the smass shifting and making Bumblebee a bug instead of a bad ass ride. I'm sooooo glad they didn't make him a bug. And I am super glad they didn't get into "mass shifting"

That's one of the many unexplanable fallacies of the Movie.

Even if they come out with an official explanation, it just didn't quite hit the mark.

It makes sense for the Decepticons to have them mostly talk in Cybertronian...They sound more badass and mysterious...It also makes sense to have the Autobots speak in english, they are the heroes and that way they can relate to people.

But they are not patriotic.

I meant patriotic to Cybertron. Not speaking their own language. :P
