I'm a dishonorable Transformers fan :-(

So after vowing on October 11th that I would NOT listen to Transformers: The Score at all, until I was able to buy 2 copies of it at the cash register of a real store...

...I broke down and listened to the whole thing off of my MP3 player earlier today

I couldn't help it! This morning my wife and I made a day trip to the Blue Ridge Parkway around Boone (here in North Carolina). It was a 2 and a half hour drive on that wide-open highway. And the score was crying out to me.

I've never used illegal drugs. But now I know what withdrawal must feel like.

So I gave in and played the whole thing. And even played Decepticons and Arrival To Earth twice!

I felt such sweet and joyful relief!

But all the same: my sacred vow is now broken. If a man is only as good as his word, then I'm absent of any redeeming quality at all. I have brought shame on my family name for generations to come. It wouldn't surprise me if my children wound up disowning me and in disgust try to hide their identity by running away and joining the circus or the French Foreign Legion.

So now my life is ruined.

But at least I can go ahead and listen to Transformers: The Score some more

Do it KnightShift, have another hit of some good orchestral music!

I don't thinks its that bad a thing that you caved, you lasted quite a while, and since you have been championing the Score for months now, you should be able to give a good honest opinion of the product! :P

Plus it seems you would be an old old man before listening to the score if you waited to buy it in store...

i seriously doubt anyone is going to hold something against the person responsible for the albums release! i think you, more than anyone, deserves to give it a spin! ;)^

Ain't that the truth!!!

I've been checking every store around here ever week since October 9th (sometimes several times a week). And it's nowhere to be found!

At this point I'm starting to honestly believe that I'll see the 2-disc set on store shelves, before getting a glimpse of this one in a Best Buy or Wal-Mart

Don't feel so bad. I actually saw a single lone copy at the FYE store (in Westminster, MD of all places) last week, along with 4 copies of the "various artist" album, so it IS getting out there. I have a feeling that the lone copy may just be a reflection of the score's popularity relative to that of the "other" one (which is why so many of "those" copies were still on the shelf as opposed to in someone's shopping bag....).

In any event, they're coming into the stores it seems (although flying out as fast as they come in maybe...)

I thought it would be out in stores by now!!

When I vowed to do that, I figured it would be a week, two at the most, before it would be widely available. Here it is... almost a month later... and I still haven't found it in stores yet!!

Speaking of the Transformers score, the stories that I've been receiving over the past few weeks about how much it's affected people have been astounding to put it mildly. Among them...

- A young woman who is using "Autobots" during a presentation about her being a heart transplant recipient.

- A young woman who passed away just as the score was becoming available. She was *seriously* in love with Jablonsky's score for Transformers. Her family used one of the tracks from the soundtrack in her funeral service.

- Not one but two unconfirmed reports of "Arrival to Earth" being used in weddings.

I had to take a relative to get a medical exam this morning in the next town over and wound up playing the Transformers score on my MP3 player while on the road. He asked me what was that music from and I told him it was from Transformers. He said it "sounded beautiful".

This score is a classic. I couldn't deny myself from it any longer

I've learned one cardinal rule.

Never vow to stop buying Transformers toys and merchandise.

Don't make him feel bad, he probably just has a little bit of Starscream in his blood.
I just got my score a couple of minutes ago, it is playing now. It sounds great!
They are still not in any store around here as of last weekend, good thing I broke down and ordered it online. We could not wait and had been buying the music off of itunes.
