anyone ever notice this or wonder where it goes? What was the point I wonder?
Sam keeps the disco ball and the BEE-OTCH air freshener, but the large lion dissappears.
It's on the dashboard in the used car lot. I know usually everything in a movie has a purpose or reason for being there, I just wonder what the point of the lion was.
theories?

I never noticed that lion but in your screen captures it seems that it stays there for decoration maybe?

I remember it well from the movie because I used to have a lion like that when I was a kid. At least it looks exactly like it. They were sold at zoos.
Anyway, I have no idea what happened to it in the movie but I's assume Sam got rid of it.

your right I remember that, I got one from the zoo too. It was a thin hollow plastic with kind of a thin velvet type coating.
nice recollection.

Maybe Bumblebee is a huge Chronicles of Narnia fan...
Okay, I wasn't going to mention it before because I'm ashamed to know this, but maybe it is some obscure reference to The Wuzzles. It was a show about these characters that were half one animal, half another animal. There was a character on the show named Bumblelion that was half Bumblebee, half lion. It was a Disney show but I believe that Hasbro made the toys or at least the plush toys anyways. I'll try to look into it more tomorrow and dig up a pic of Bumblelion, who looks nothing like Bumblebee.

I'd be surprised if it was a reference to that but that's a very good connection, Swerve.

I think that the lion got ripped up to shreds the first time BB transformed....

It could be in the glove compartment.

Mikaela took the lion home. The hairy little toy tickles her. It's the reason Mikaela got back in the car. Not Sam.

Found a picture of Bumblelion, he's the one in the middle:

Another picture of all the Wuzzles:

I found out that Hasbro did produce the toys for this line but the animation was through Disney. It was released at the same time as the Gummi Bears. There really wasn't any other connection to be made other than the guy that did the voice for Bumblelion also did the voice for Dr. Mindbender on GI Joe. There was one other cast member of the Wuzzles that also did the voice for Beachcomber on Transformers. Both of those connections seem a stretch. Oh well.
I only offer the Wuzzles and Bumblelion as one possible explaination to the lion being in Bumblebee. It seems really obscure so I bet it is just one of those crazy coincidences.

This is an interesting find.
Which leads me to believe it's not a coincidence. It could be a subtle way of Hasbro advertising their other toy lines.

I have to admit I watched the Wuzzles a time or two when I was a teenager. When Transformers was no longer aired I had to find other cartoons to watch. Ah well, what are you to do when your favorite cartoon goes off the air?

Play, and replay, and replay, and replay... the 1986 Movie. I've watched it hundreds of times. Countless!

I guess maybe they thought no one would get the Bumblelion reference...
Then again maybe they didn't intend for there to be a Bumblelion reference, in which case both Blackstreak and I have now admitted to having watched The Wuzzles.

Surely the Quintissons will find us guilty on the charge of watching the Wuzzles.
