Some nods to the Sunbow cartoon I would like to see

Maybe I am too much of a cartoon purist? I was a little dissapointed that Sams dad was not written to be "Sparkplug". He obviously had a lot of hobbies around the home in the film, and was into cars. He could have been a retired racecar mechanic, who can McGuyver anything. It would have been cool if he had been a bit more of a quack-inventor type guy. That way when it comes time for the parents to meet the Autobots, they could have Ratchet on deaths doorstep, and Sam gets his dad to save him in the garage! Then Ratchet could give him the nickname Sparkplug.
Now, my other idea is, why did they give so much background on Mikaylas dad. They established that he is top notch car thief, and probable, chop-shop operator. So would it be much of a stretch for him to get out of jail and be given the "Sparkplug" treatment? He could obviously be an asset come TF2!
Also, I thought it would have been a given, when (her name escapes me) computer girl says something like "there is only one hacker in the world who can break this code..." that they had shown his online name as "Chip Chase"
Lastly, I would like to see Starscream team up with a rogue S7 scientist that they could give the Dr. Archiville treatment. Hmm... exponential generator to power Super Starscream in TF2? All these daydreams...

Those are all cool ideas. I'd like to see more tie-ins too.

I'd like to see a scene where they accidentally animated an Autobot in the Decepticon base.

No offense, I'm not hating G1. But it would've been nice if they put in tributes to other TF lines as well. Besides, it's one thing to include the Chri-chra-chro-chroo TF sound and Megatron's fusion cannon, but characters like Chip and Arkeville are only known by the hardcore fans nowadays...

Thanks to Dr. Smoov I have a feeling a lot more people know who Chip Chase is and the fact that if he doesn't stop talking about how megatron is cheating, Ironhide will throw him out into the middle of that ring.

It would could have been his nickname or his code name like the G.I Joes characters, but really what kind of human is going to name their kid Sparkplug? Only transformers would do that...

I only knew Chip Chase from Smoov's great clips, but had to look up Arkeville on Teletraan. How many people, besides TF fans, watch the Smoov films? Most of the G1 tributes were obvious, so that the general audience could pick them up. Names of third-tier G1 humans aren't going to ring a bell with the average 30-year old guy who only remembers TFs from his childhood toys.

Dr. Arkeville was in about 4 or 5 of the the 16 episodes of Season 1 alone. That being said, I don't think Akerville or Chip Chase really need to be in the movies. There are at least a couple of threads dedicated not only to people wanting to see those characters in TF2, but they are debating over who should play them.
