Variety is reporting that, despite efforts to finalise it before the writer's guild strikes in Hollywood, the Transformers 2 script will not be ready before the strikes, and risks stalling production until the strikes are settled.

Read the whole article, which includes updates on the status of other films in the works, by clicking here.

Not on the pre-strike list is "Transformers 2," a sequel that is still being written. Labor talks will determine whether the visual effects-heavy film makes its projected June 26, 2009, release date.

How do you plan a strike? Easy.

"We demand an increase in pay and if we don't get it we'll strike from <insertdate>"

Bunch of saps? Strike is BS? No they're not and no it isn't. None of us know what a writer gets paid but considering how much money movies and tv shows are making these days I don't see why the writers (you know, the people who actually give the directors and actors something to work with) shouldn't be entitled to a bigger share of the profits.

According to g4's attack of the show. Hollywood is doing everthing in it's power to avoid the writer strike. The writers are willing to sit down a listen and if things appear to be moving forward they may not strike at all.

If you want to know, it's quite obvious, and I can tell you. Actually, I did read some information on the second movie. I know pretty much of all that's gonna happen.

If you're talking about the leaked script treatment, it's been a confirmed "fake", in the sense that it was just a potential idea and was not approved. Nothing in the treatment should be considered official or legit in any way, shape or form.

The writers are striking for very legitimate reasons. They are getting a fair share of profits on DVDs and internet streaming. Those deals were based on VHS profits... and now things have exploded.

I hardly think they are saps. They want what they are entitled to.

But it does make it a rough ride for those of us who like good TV shows and movies.

I thought of TF2 as soon as I heard the strike was on. Oh well, I'm not going to sweat it too much, though I like the fact that Transformers is in the maintream public eye, I can wait. I was worried about them rushing out the sequel anyways, I'm thinking this'll get worked out soon.
