Bumblebee loophole

I work in auto advertising and pretty much all the 08 models are already out on the show room floor.

So here's my question, If the 08 Camaro is still far from retail release, how'd the initial car that BB scaned and copied hit the streets so far in advance?

I know it's a loophole, but since I work in the field, it still sits uneasy with me :-?

So any Ideas as to how this happened?

Dunno, somebody stole it from the Chevy lab?

I'm willing to overlook it, seeing as how the movie is basically one big loophole. Where the HELL IS BARRICADE?!

But, yes, I'm going to go with the idea that someone stole it.

I liked someone's response last time this came up.

"It was a GM executive out test driving the car"

Or something to that extent.

Which happens.

Or maybe the movie is set in a time when the car has already been released.

The Movie is set in an alternate world, with an alternate reality. It's not real. It's just for entertainment.

Someone's thinking outside the box here.

Oops. Sorry. I thought we were after real-world reasons here.

Ok, here's for the fantasy reason.

Maybe they're doing tests on the vehicle. You know. Like those spy-cams catching some new not-yet-realeased car models in camouflage or disguise out in the streets.

Only this time, the Camaro cover got blown off. And the test-driver is hurrying back to the plant, to conceal it.

there is a very logical explanation... It was a test drive

I agree. But some folks can point out that there was not an actual running Concept Camaro yet.

GM have to use another car model, and dress it up like Concept Camaro, just for the Movie. Notice they never show the interior in detail. Not even a quick glance at the dash.

Yeah, but test drives on concept cars don't happen at night on public streets without heavy security and cameras. Even on a magazine cover when the car is banking a turn, believe me, thats sectioned off. Also the idea of driving to the car to something like a photo shoot is out cause (especialy concept cars) are transported to these events.

GM has private test tracks, again, I work in this field, thats how I know this. I'm sure if I worked someplace else, this wouldn't even be a blip on my radar.

More of a plot hole.

Not to be confused with a pot hole or even Hop Pole, a tiny little place in Lincolnshire.

movie wasn't set on the year 2007 or any specific year, so anything can happen. in all fairness the stock Pontiac Solstice doen't look as good as Jazz. no police department would spend the money on Saleen Mustang patrol cars either. it's a movie, get over it. :P

Red Alert Lambo? ;;) That's much more exotic than Saleen.

Bumblebee obviously scanned while it was made into production for Michael Bay's "Transformers". It was the only way that car could have been out on the street like that.

Its not really a plot hole, just an inconsistency because we do not know what year the movie takes place in theerefore there is no way to pinpoint if it was a "private owners" car or a " company car"

I got another one for you to try wrapping your head around. The Decepticons were said to have come to Earth around '03, right? And YET Barricade is an '05 or '06 model car, while Blackout took the form of a helicopter that was shot down only six months before the movie.

If BB can scan to another/newer form why can't they.

I realy don't like how they made it so easy for them to switch their alt modes.

In all the other series except AEC, switching alt modes was a pretty involved process. The quick scans (that realy Beast Machines started) is a cop out to me.
