If he hit the pool length wise then there would be no need to cause any damage and is why only water is displaced, hitting water is as hard as hitting ground at that speed so it would have stopped his crash fast. I would have liked to have seen more water displaced from the pool is all though.
The impact of Ironhide hitting a swimming pool would be the equivalent of ... hmmm, say ...
Megatron punching a baby.
If he landed in the ocean, sure ... he wouldn't go very deep. I understand where you are coming from, but just think for a second.
That swimming pool should no longer exist after such a massive impact.
Have you ever seen a morbidly obese kid jump off a diving board? They can move some fricken water! This was IRONHIDE ... from outer SPACE!
If the whole entire side of a stadium didn't stop Jazz, I'm thinking IH could penetrate roughly 10 feet of water ... and then 50 to 100 feet of earth below it. (when considering his obviously high trajectory and relatively perpendicular angle of impact)
Maybe this topic will pique the interest of the Mythbusters one day, but ... somehow I doubt it!
Anyway ... that water slowed Ironhide down just as much as I just slowed the earth down by tapping the floor just now.
